While this B&B is within walking distance of the center of Kinsale, we were struck from the very first moment by the icy reception we got from the hostess: not a smile, bare politeness, not an extra word beyond the strict necessary for her business. This was in total contradistinction to the warm, fun and efficient hosts we had in... More

Our stay in Ashgrove was a delight. This B&B is a cut above the norm in all respects. Tastefully decorated without ostentation, it is a very attractive accommodation, set in a rural area, just outside Kinsale; hence you have the benefits of the bucolic surroundings, yet are not but a short walk (shorter drive, though parking in Kinsale can be... Very nice and friendly owner. She helped us to find the sights and good restaurants. Great and fresh breakfast with different dishes and fresh fruits. Good location in walking distance to the village and with great view.

It has been exactly one year since we stayed at this great B and B. I'm sorry it has taken me so long to write. Margaret was great. She greeted us with a hot cup of tea, which was needed after a long drive from Dublin. Margaret's home and our room were very clean. She had great suggestions for dinner... More

If you are looking for a fancy B&B, move on. If you're looking for a clean and friendly place with a pleasant host and good breakfast, within a five minute walk to downstown Kinsale, this is worth your consideration. Rooms were decent sized (bigger than some other places we stayed) and the dining room has nice views over the town... More

My friend and I spent 2 nights here during our tour of Ireland. The room was small but comfortable. We had a little bit of an issue finding the B&B, but after a few missed turns we figured it out. My suggestion would be to call Margaret (the owner) and have her help you. Breakfast each morning was tasty. The... More

I only stayed in Kinsale for one night and spent limited in the B&B but my experience was pleasant. I wasn't able to locate it at first, but Margaret was very helpful over the phone and met me outside. She made sure I had everything I needed to get settled in and gave me directions on how to get to... More

When we arrived we were also greeted by a young girl who showed us our rooms and disappeared. I had to find her to ask if we could put some wine & cheese in their fridge and she said of course. When Margaret showed up and we were in the kitchen getting our food she was quite miffed; she also... More

We spent two nights here with our family while on a family vacation. Rooms were comfortable and very clean. Margaret was there to greet us when we arrived and gave us suggestions for dinner as well as the next day's activities. Breakfast was wonderful! It is a short walk into Kinsale, and you do have to watch for cars where... More
