Over all a very good place to stay in. Very willing to assist you in your needs. Food is excellent and staff do not hover. You are left to enjoy your time and meal. Small few things could do with an upgrade. Like the menu in the room and the carpet is due an upgrade soon. Other than that no... More

Stayed here for 2 nights. Room was spacious and clean. Also nice & quiet - just off the main road so no noise from street, but close to the rest of town Shower thermostat needs to be checked as water was a little luke warm (bit better 2nd day). Full cooked breakfast each day was really good with the famous... More

Thank you for your excellent review and for staying with us. We greatly appreciate your feedback and will address the water issue (the tweaking in old buildings can be tricky!). Clonakilty black pudding is also one of our favourite delights on the menu and we are so lucky to have such high calibre food right here so close to home!... More

I spent 5 nights here on a social visit to Clonakilty. Despite it's central location just off the main thoroughfare, this B & B is quiet and restful. The guesthouse is very well managed, immaculately clean and the staff are attentive and responsive. The breakfast includes interesting choices as well as the usual "full Irish". As a vegetarian, however, it... More

I spent two nights at An Sugan with a friend for a social visit to Clonakilty. The location could not have been better for what we wanted, just off the main street and easy walking distance from all pubs and restaurants. We had breakfast on both mornings and the choice and quality were excellent, along with the service (Denis is... More

I stayed here for a weekend at the end of September. The location was very convenient and I felt very welcomed by all members of staff. The room was very comfortable and clean and had everything I needed. I had a cooked breakfast both mornings which were delicious. Overall a very pleasant stay and I would recommend staying here.

My mother and I stayed here for three nights in September 2013. The building is attractive, and our room was clean and comfortable. Food in the adjoining restaurant was excellent the night we had dinner there. Several factors keep me from rating this b&b as anything other than average. The most important of these factors is the fact that, in... More

Thank you for your review. We are sorry we didn't meet all your expectations. Parking and wifi are an issue for a period building. We are restricted with more modern renovations but try to maintain the integrity of the building and customer comfort. Denis is indeed a great asset and character in our business. We are always pleased to know... More

Didn't eat in the restaurant, so can't comment on that, but the twin room was tidy and had all the amenities you needed. Also very centrally located and easy to find and there's a fine breakfast available in the morning.

Could not recommend An Sugan highly enough! For starters I had the deep fried Gubeen cheese and my girlfriend had the black pudding terrine. The black pudding terrine was one of the nicest things I’ve ever eaten. For mains, we both went for fish (it is a seafood bar after all). The specials board had plenty of choice. I had... More

An excellent pub/restaurant with a seafood oriented menu. The lobster platter at €29 was enormous, fresh and delicious. The hamburger at €13 was enormous and very tender. It goes without saying that when in Clonakilty you have to try the pudding - and the terrine of black and white pudding served with a creamy sweet (sun-dried?) tomato sauce was one... More

Visiting beautiful West Cork, we chanced on An Sugan and its Taster Plate....we were charmed!! It was tasty, characterful and allowed us to try the various local specialities from the Clonakility Black pudding Terrine to delicious smoked salmon. In fact it was sort of W.Cork tapas...but substantial tapas, and it made a great lunch. This is an excellent establishment. We... More
