Went there for lunch with my partner as it has been highly recommended by everyone. The portion of lasagne I got was very small and wasn't the best. The same can be said for the chicken strips that herself got. When I got the bill i was shocked at the price and I have said to people that have been... More

After a short wait at the bar, we got a table and ordered. The staff member Denis was very friendly. We had delicious monkfish and a seafood pie, packed with prawns and chunky cod accompanied by stir fry veg and potato gratin. The bar is small and cosy, with not many places to sit, but nonetheless our experience was a... More

A bleak late-March evening in West Cork warmed up by an enthusiastic welcome at An Sugan. Good food served quickly with a smile - super fresh fish and a selection of tasty desserts. The 'simple' fish chips is good value, as were the dessert specials.

My wife and I recently spent a night at the Sugan B&B in Clonakilty, The Sugan B&B a building oozing with character and steeped in history is superbly located close to the heart of Clonakilty a thriving vibrant town, a beautifully appointed room, spacious clean, warm, comfortable, made us feel at home, whilst still enjoying the freedom and excitement of being away. The... More

The B&B (which is next to the pub) was in darkness when we arrived so we went to the pub and were greeted by a very helpful member of staff. He knew who we were (as we were the only guests arriving with a child) and immediately stopped what he was doing and showed us to our room and was... More

We had a legendary bad meal in An Sugan over 20 years ago. Down in Clonakilty again over the Christmas and was lured in again by recommendations by Lucinda O'Sullivan and Paolo Tullio despite family objections. We just missed the 6.30 pm early bird cut-off. Salt and pepper calamari is a firm family favourite and was ordered by all except... More

Have stayed in Clonakilty a few times now, especially for a number of weddings over the summer. We recently stayed at An Sugan for the first time, and wish we'd found it sooner. A nice, spacious, clean room, friendly service and a lovely breakfast in the morning at a very good price.

We didn't stay here, just went in for dinner, we were seated straight away and given menus. Drinks order was taken and we had them quite quickly, however it took almost 20 minutes for the waitress to come and take our order, and another 35 for our food to arrive, we didn't have starters and another couple who ordered at... Didn't stay in the hotel but had dinner in the bar.really enjoyed the food, top notch and the service was great . definitely needs a overhaul but then that might take away the 'feel' of the place.might not want to stay on what other reviews say but I'd highly recommend the food
