Well we expected more for our money, the decor was tired and dated, light bulbs missing, no bottled water, coffee naff, everything bolted down, no personal touches. Hairs in shower put us off having one. The breakfast was average even though it was a pricey restaurant, no customer service skills. We wouldn't go back.

We recently had a 3-day stay at An Sugan. The accommodation itself was fine, however, over the 3 days the only attempt at room service was a change of towels on the third day, bins were not emptied, tea/coffee supplies were not replenished. The breakfasts which were cooked and served in the accommodation section of the hotel (away from the... More

Myself and my better half arrived after a day of hiking, maybe looking a bit casual but had a hunger and a fist full of money to spend. We stepped into the busy eaterie and an eastern European women who seemed like the manager sort of grunted "only space at the bar". No hello, no sorry we are busy etc.... More

We had a great stay, two nights in the B&B with one night dining in the Pub. One of the more unusual bed and breakfasts we stayed in during our 8 days touring the Wild Atlantic Way. Don't be afraid to test Dennis's customer service approach in the Restaurant. He greeted us as we arrived with a true Cork welcome.... More

My husband and I recently spent a couple of days in clonakilty and after reading good reviews about the food we decided to have dinner in an sugan , biggest mistake ever. Alarm bells should have started ringing when I called ahead to see what time they stopped serving food and all I got was a hello I had to... More

The welcome was friendly when we arrived and was shown to our reserved seat straight away. We waited 10 minutes before we received a menu. There was a little wait for starter but was worth the delay as we got the tasting platter and it was Devine . The rest of the meal was a disaster . Our mains took... More

Passing through and stopped in for lunch. On the boards, crabmeat and claws were on the dinner menu. We asked could we have claws for lunch, and the reply was he wouldn't ask in the kitchen as it's not on the board. Later as we were eating waiter walked passed with the comment of your ok, instead of asking were... More

One of the best places to stay when in Clonakilty. Brend and Dennis and the staff are pleasant and friendly and unobtrusive. The b and b rooms are spacious, spotless and so quiet. Breakfast is enormous. The house is historic and associated tho not directly physically connected with a delightful bar and restaurant of the same name right in downtown... More
