I visited Clonakilty recently for a wedding and was initially disappointed that the venue (the Fernhill House Hotel, also in Clonakilty) did not have enough room on some nights of my trip. The wedding planner recommended O'Donovan's quite apologetically. It seems to have a reputation as a bit rougher than some of the other accommodation in town, but I don't... More

This hotel is a family run hotel and the staff are excellent.Bedrooms are clean, tidy and very comfortable. The hotel also provides live music 4-5 nights per week, specialising in Traditional Irish music, with brilliant musicians. We found that the restaurant food very good and can also be served in the Bars if required. The hotel staff are so helpful when it... More

Stayed two separate nights start & end on a weeks holiday & was absolutely delighted with ALL aspects of O'Donovans!!! I've been frequenting this hotel for 15 years regards eating, which is exceptional & I've always felt it has the "best" pint of Guinness around the area! The staff all round are friendly, funny, (if you like a laugh &... More

The Hotel is family owned and run and is situated right in the centre of the very pretty town , the main Bus service stops right outside the door and was helped off the bus by a very friendly Traffic Warden. All the staff very friendly and very helpful and I enjoyed the music sessions in the bar during my stay.... Although I found Clonakilty a little dismal,( due to rain) my party only spent one night and a morning there... I feel certain the town has some great sites and visuals. We'd chosen this village as part of an 11 day self-guided trip of Ireland, having blood roots in this area of the country, but no current relations. We found... More

The bedroom was grand, food was lovely, staff were lovely, hotel has plenty of character, old style surroundings very comfortable! Now comes the bad bit and it's very bad!! The niteclub (the Venue) was overcrowed, grossly underage, there were people smoking in the club, (these same people removed their shirts and sat in their vests for the night - charming!),... More

Well where can I start?!! What a welcoming friendly hotel!!From reception to bar to restaurant the staff are kind and could not do enough for us, and Clonakilty as a town has some fantastic little shops and boutiques!! Normally I don't leave reviews but I felt compelled to after witnessing heroic bravery from security staff and management who confronted and... More

I stayed in O Donovans recently while attending a wedding in West Cork. I really like the charm of this hotel as it brings me right back to the 1990's. Once you pass through the main door its like a time wrap...transported back to the good ole days...lol. I had a really nice room with a balcony and the service... More
