If you come to West Cork you have to visit the little town of Clonakilty and stay at the O'Donovan's Hotel, a sixth generation, historic, family run hotel. Large rooms, good and rich breakfast (their black pudding was excellent), and daily live music in the hotel lounge. If you love traditional Irish music you can visit the Teach Beag, an... More

Stayed two nights at this hotel for a friend's hen party. Great town centre location, rooms are big and clean. Ours had a small balcony which was great to open in the morning and let in some air. The hotel has a night club and on the second night I was back at the room just before it ended and... More

We spent a great night out in Clonakilty. We caught up with some friends for a cheese board and a few glasses of wine in Molly's behind the off licence. It's so chilled out and relaxed in there.. Later that night we went down to the restaurant and had a lovely meal. I didn't have a starter but the steak... More

While we only stayed one night, the rooms and helpful friendly staff were a tonic at the end of a hard day's travel. We ate in the hotel bar and the food and service was top notch and reasonable. Tuesday night was traditional music night and we were included in what seemed to be a community event. Everyone appeared to... More

Had a family meal here with my wife and kids and while the food was ok I found the whole experience was not what I would expect from a long established Buisness in a busy tourist town We ordered a child's meal & requested a small portion of veg to go with the meal and we were charged way above... l stayed in this smashing hotel late April/May, and as l often mention, l am the fussiest hotel stayer ever. So, to read this dullard (radio093) , review O'Donovan's completely and utterly incorrectly, makes my point underlined once more...Tripadvisor allow the absolute wrong person to jump on an imaginary pedestal...and criticise in a wholly inaccurate and unfounded way any hotel... My husband and I have stayed here many times over the last few years, and we keep going back. We love the food, the people and our lovely room, we seem to get the same room every year without asking (room 228). While has a small balcony and is a good size. I love their chicken curry and is the... More

Note to self, next time check TripAdvisor before you visit a hotel and not after! The reviews here are 100% accurate... This place is a shambles. Rude, arrogant and greedy owner, and the worst attempt at running a business I have witnessed in years!

I suggest next time you visit our night club you pay at the door like everybody and bnot sneak in behind the back of the ticket man.... More

A charming, historical and welcoming hotel, with a relaxing atmosphere. We enjoyed being entertained, with traditional Irish live music. We found the staff very friendly, especially barman Craig who went out of his way to assist. We had a lovely evening and look forward to going again on future trips to Ireland.
