We stayed 3 nights - very pleased with location for easy access to Cork and the surrounding coast and country. Peaceful beautiful waterside location. Imposing house and super welcoming hosts. Cherry took us to local restaurant in her car so we wouldn't need to drive and arranged for restaurant staff to bring us back - she also provided lots of... More

Loughcarrig B&B was the worst of the 12 accomodations my sister and I stayed in Ireland and the only one with which we were unhappy. (Bantry House, our splurge, was by far the most wonderful. The two hostels, one in Dingle and one in Ennis, were clean and perfectly great, far superior to Loughcarrig.) The trip from Midleton to Loughcarrig,... More

We stayed for 4 nights at this wonderful B&B. Brian and Cheryl are true hosts and gave us a beautiful stay feeling like a home away from home. Nothing is ever too much trouble, breakfast is abundant and whenever you would like in the morning, set in the most lovely of settings overlooking the water. With a lounge to make... More

Number 1, Trip Advisor rating for Loughcarrig House BB in Midleton County Cork is correct, appropriate and fully deserved. If you enjoy genuine hospitality, excellent food, all in complete comfort in quiet peaceful secluded surroundings, then I strongly recommend a visit to Brian and Cheryl Byrne in Loughcarrig House. Midleton is an excellent base for touring this lovely area of... More

My room overlooked the water with horses grazing - wow! Cherry is a very welcoming host with a cup of tea and scone at the ready :-) Lovely engaging lady who took time to chat. Comfortable, inviting living room which truly came alive in the evening with guests! But even if I had been on there my own I would... More

Found this by surprise and stayed only one night- very quiet and beautiful location- surrounded by lush green landscaped gardens and also facing the sea- Cheryl and Brian are hospitable and helpful- even dropped is into Middleton for dinner. The house is filled with antiques and very clean! Cheryl makes a great breakfast!

we had the best stay at Loughcarrig House. A very warmhearted landlady. Spacious room with a stunning view. A beautiful common room with an open fire, also the breakfast room has the most beautiful view to the water. The house is located at the last corner of the huge harbour of cork. South of Midleton away from the main road,... More
