Agnes is a welcoming hostess in a stunning rural setting. Large rooms but with small ensuite bathrooms. Breakfast included real Canadian maple syrup. A first for us Canucks after a dozen Irish B&B stays. Good base for the beach or Donegal drives

We've just stayed 3 nights at Cavangarden Lodge, a self-catering 3 bedroom house on the grounds of a B&B with different self-catering options as well. In short, it was the perfect place for us to stay after our busy few days in Dublin at the beginning of our Ireland road trip. It's just 3km from Ballyshannon, which has a few... More

Very quiet and peaceful B&B. You drive up a winding driveway, cross a small bridge and the large house is in front of you. The rooms are large and nicely decorated. We have stayed with Mrs McCaffrey every year we travel to Ireland which is about 14 times and have never been disappointed. Mrs McCaffrey leaves a breakfast menu at... More

I loved the grand old house. The rooms were large and the beds super comfy. The dining room where we had breakfast, is spacious and the food was good. The wi-fi was not strong enough and none of the guests when we were there could connect. Yes it's an old house and it shows but its character and charm make... More

We booked this because of the charming idea of staying in Ireland at a former chapel and on a huge estate. This place and location did not disappoint! If you need accommodation that is great for kids and pet friendly, then this is ideal self-catering with the option of cooked breakfasts in the main house. Really good value for money,... More

10 years ago when we first stayed at Cavangarden House, we found it and the proprietress, Agnes, charming. When we returned a month ago, it was like being welcomed back home. Everything, including Agnes, is still there and just as comfortable. The location is perfect for exploring Donegal City, Ballyshannon, the Strand and Belleck.

We stayed here two nights..we had been on horseback all day and we were greeted so graciously...the house was so quaint and full of antiques..the rooms are slightly outdated..but we were very comfortable and loved the charm of this lovely home..our hostess could not have been more welcoming and the breakfast was outstanding..this was one of our favorite stops!!

This was our second stay at Cavangarden. We stayed one night last year and liked it so much that we went back this year, for 3 nights. You need a car, it is 3kms outside Ballyshannon. It is really quiet and surrounded by fields and horses. Breakfast is GREAT. You get to chose from the traditional Irish Breakfast, French toast,... More

Arrived 31/07/14. Room #1. Very dirty/filthy. Dead flies and waste/dirt on floors, huge amount of dust on furniture's. Bulb defect in room. No bulb at all in lamp (exempt from mirror lamp) in bathroom. Handle to shower nearly fallen off - hanging in one loose screw. Irish Breakfast tasteless without any character. The worst during our holiday, where we stayed... More

We travel to Ireland every year and stay at Agnes's home everytime. Her home is large and the rooms are spacious. The drive to the home thru beautiful woods and land.
