Perfect place for touring, relaxation, spa and good food. Suite is nice as we could have breakfast on terrace overlooking river. Nice to have door open at night, too. Staff friendly, helpful. Spa treatments good as they use voya products. Fascinating to see old photos.

When I booked the hotel I requested a heritage room but on wasn't given one & we weren't told this when we checked in. The lady on reception was very pleasant & we were given two vouchers for a drink at the bar. The bar man was not irish & was not very chatty or friendly. However, our room was... More

Ice House was very serene, quiet location, over hanging the salmon river in Ballina. handy to a lively downtown scene but great for peace and quiet with a spa included. Breakfast was great, and staff was very helpful. Althought the outside would fool you, if you need restful, luxe surrondings, you can really find peace and quiet here. Also near... More

We had booked a Classic Heritage Room on a two night deal. It was describes as ''Sumptuous'' however we found a very dark and dirty room furnished with a miss-matched furniture we can only describe as ''knackered'' The wooden bath looked most unhinged and the shower tray filled up around your feet during use. All set in a very dark... More

Stayed here on a night away with my husband for our anniversary in Oct 2013. Reception was inviting and had a quick check in and bags taken to our room for us. Offered a glass of bubbly on arrival which was lovely. Room we stayed in was amazing - the bathroom is top class really luxurious. View from the room... More

Attention to detail and customer care was superb. One of the best meals we have ever had - the only problem was that the portions were too big to finish and I hated not being able to finish it! Great spot for a relaxing weekend with good rooms and views. Breakfast was good too. I used the spa on both... More

We have just spent the weekend at The Ice House in Ballina and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. My wife had wanted to go to the hotel for a while as she had heard good reports, and we were not disappointed. We stayed under a living social deal which was very reasonable, however given we had to pay a €50 supplement to... More

Just returned from a 2 night stay at this wonderful hotel. I stayed in the still suite and the only way to describe the room is amazing. Beautifully laid suite, balcony is an added bonus. The huge bed was so comfortable and the linen was a very high standard. The suite Looks out directly over the River Moy. the hotel... More

We stayed at the Ice House Hotel Ballina, last Sunday and Monday 24th and 25th March. The hotel is in a great location overlooking the River Moy just outside the town of Ballina County Mayo. Our bedroom overlooked the river and we had fascinating views of the tidal changes and varied birdlife. Our room was very comfortable with all the... More

I visited the Ice House over 6 years ago, when times where a little better and I'm very happy to report that the prices have come down but the standards have been maintained. The staff throughout our stay where just wonderful, especially the night porter (I wish I knew his name now). We ate once in the restaurant and had... More
