I stayed here for one night just before Christmas as I was going to a wedding in Kenmare. A very comfortable stay right in the centre of town and a great breakfast too. Mary and the staff were very welcoming and accommodating from check in to check out and it was easy to see the good vibe about the place.... More

My husband and stayed at the Hawthorne House for two nights last week. It was a wonderful place to stay. It was easy to find and the location in town was perfect for us. Mary, our hostess, couldn't have been nicer and gave us great directions for the Ring of Kerry, and for dinners. We throughly loved our stay in... More

The host at this b&b is very lovely and welcoming. We were quite late and went with what was offered. Unfortunately, the room decor is very dated, although everything was very clean, and the bed was very comfortable. It was impossible to properly close both the bedroom window and the bathroom window, which was very irritating. In addition, the walls... More

On the good side, the room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast tasty and generous. On the not so good side, we arrived while a rugby match was on the TV and consequently were treated more as an unwanted interruption than as a paying guest, shown quickly to our room and given a minimum of information. But particularly annoying... More

Hawthorn House is perfectly situated on the edge of Kenmare, and Mary ensures that it is filled with warmth and hospitality. Despite a "questionable review" received from her brother, Michael (who I met in a pub one night)(LOL!), we found breakfast to be delicious, and Mary's smile to be infectious. P.S. Mary, sorry about the outcome of the Championship, but... More

Hawthorn House is extremely well located right in Kenmare. Though location of this B&B is perfect it is the warmth and hospitality of the owner Mary that made this place truly outstanding. She could not do enough for my husband and I and added so much to our most enjoyable stay. The breakfast offerings were wonderful and nicely presented. We... More

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at Hawthorn House while visiting the lovely town of Kenmare. It has a lot to offer: location in the center of town, free off street parking, large and very comfortable, quiet rooms, delicious breakfasts with a good selection of cooked dishes, and most of all, the warm hospitality of Mary O'Brian.

Great spot right at the edge of the pretty little town of Kenmare. Easy walk "home" after a late night. Great breakfast. Mary is a lovely hostess and recommended some perfect pubs, such as Crowley's, for traditional session music. A great Irish experience!

We arrived in Kenmare and had not booked accomodation to find most places full...but Fortunately Hawthorn Lodges B& B were recommended. What a delight it was meeting Mary who was friendly and helpful. Our rooms were spacious, light and clean and tidy. Beds comfortable. Restaurants and shops were all in walking distance. Great meals and Irish music to be heard.... More

Lovely stay for one night! We stayed here with friends whilst touring the Ring of Beara and found Kenmare an excellent place to base ourselves for the night. Plenty of good reasonable restaurants and Hawthorn House was very well located near the Main Street. Breakfast was excellent and Mary a marvellous hostess!
