If its perfection you are looking for then this is the place to go. We are four well seasoned travellers and have stayed in some great places in some great Countries but none that has it all like Carrig Country House. The views of the lake, the rooms, the staff, the food and last but not least Mary and Frank,... More

If you want a quiet get-away-from-it-all break, then this could be your place. Tucked away in a lovely garden right on the shore of lake Caragh with superb mountain views..... And no telly! Yes there is no television in the rooms, a communal tv room does the job! Little or no phone reception adds to the cut off feeling!! The... More

We had a fabulous time at Carrig Country House. We were made to feel very welcome and at home with what I'd consider typical Irish hospitality. The house is very old school and our room (17) was spacious. No TVs in the rooms but they do have a TV room which has sky sports. The setting is wonderful, right on... More

This bed and breakfast is in a fantastic location, by a beautiful lake. And that´s all that makes it special. For 190 € per night, we never had the feeling of being in a 4 stars accommodation. Room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was almost the same you would find in any other average B&B in Ireland. I would not... More

Stayed here for 3 nights recently. Absolutely stunning location over- looking Carrig Lake, just outside Killorglin. The bedrooms are charming and comfortable and the decor is fitting with the style of the magnificent Victorian house. Food was superb (breakfast & dinner). Excellent hospitality from the owner Frank who couldn't have been more helpful and polite. Overall it was a fabulous... More

Hard to know where to begin to describe all the wonderful qualities of this Victorian house. First of all the setting in the Ring of Kerry, is just stunning. It overlooks Caragh Lake, which gently laps up against the rocks at the base of the house's gardens. The rooms are tranquil and most have views of the lake, through large... More

My husband and I stayed here over the October bank holiday weekend. We received a lovely welcome and were shown to our beautiful room. We then enjoyed some tea and home made cake/biscuits in front of the fire while the wind howled outside. There are two sittings for dinner. We rambled downstairs quite early for the later sitting, and enjoyed... More

After lots of searching for a plce to spend 2 nights on the Ring of Kerry, I came across this piece of luxury. It looked good online, had very good reviews, was private yet close to many of the tings my group wanted to see and do, on a lake, had a restaurant, etc... Everything went up several notches as... We stayed here only one night as a sort of rest stop for us as we drove around the entire island of Ireland. The house is beautiful with an amazing view of the lake. We ate dinner there that night and the food was superb, however the dining room was unbelievably hot. In all fairness, Ireland was experiencing an out... More

We wanted to dine outside of Killorglin town during our visit to Puck Fair and this lovely Guesthouse/Restaurant was recommended to us. The Michelin inspectors need to call here as the standard of food is on par with Michelin-starred Chapter One in Dublin. To what we could see, most of the food is locally sourced and the service is friendly... More
