Love, love, love this place and already planning our next visit back. The service provided by Frank and Mary is incredible, personal yet not intrusive. The food is incredible and should not be missed - if you can get one of the packages, it works out very reasonable too. The location is brilliant for golfers, cyclists, hikers etc. Cannot recommend... More

Was a bit worried when I heard Carrig does not have a TV in the room as I'm a big fan of World Cup 2014. Doesn't matter at all! Carrig has a nice cosy TV room which no one goes (almost feel like my own room!). Internet connection unfortunately is only strong at Room 10-14. So if you're like me... More

We spent 3 nights there last week and it turned out to be even better than expected. Lovely room with panoramic lake view and old world style was excellent. Food in the restaurant, again with Lake views, was top class and service friendly and professional. Special mention to two staff Nora and Siobhan who were extremely helpful. Situated in an... More

We stayed in the three-night package that was offered exclusively on the Carrig website. Wow—what an incredible deal. We enjoyed three nights with large yummy breakfasts, a round of golf and two gourmet dinners. I just love the way the host has the guests sit by the fire in the sitting room with an appetizer bite and a bit of... More

We stayed here for two nights. The food was truly the best in Ireland; I think the chef actually tastes it, unlike other chefs. The setting was lovely, our room had French doors onto a lawn that overlooked a lovely lake. The hosts are charming. The experience is more like a B&B than an inn; we usually feel a little... More

We spent 3 nights on the Linger on the Lake package which gave us a beautiful lake-view room, large bathroom with both shower and tub, dinner two nights, breakfast and best of all--massages!! After two weeks of sightseeing the break was more than welcome. The location is isolated, so I'd recommend this hotel for relaxing rather than lots of sightseeing--although... More

My wife and I spent 3 nights at Carrig Country House and the setting with Caragh Lake surrounded by mountains is as beautiful and serene as you could possibly ask for. Frank and Mary were excellent hosts, the food and service in the dining area for both dinner and breakfast was as good as you will find anywhere. The only... More

First off, let me say the house's common areas are delightful, it is set on a beautiful lake, the owner was gracious and the dinner was wonderful. Breakfast in the morning was also quite good. It was too bad that the room was so disappointing as the website gives a much better image than what we experienced. We booked a... More

Just left Carrig house with a tear in my eye. But with memories of the best oysters, the best flow of Irish whiskey, the friendliest concierge assistance, the most vivid bloom, and a salmon caught and cooked to perfection last night. Frank and Mary Slattery run a first-class joint, high end of civilization in County Kerry. They took care of... More
