We stayed here for a two night weekend break and thoroughly enjoyed our stay we ate in the restaurant both evenings and found the food and service excellent. The one bedroom annex is immaculately clean and the bed is very comfortable we both had a good nights sleep. We slept with the windows open as the weather was very hot... More

Thanks for the great review, we are glad you enjoyed your stay and had a good night's sleep despite it being ridiculously humid and the extreme thunder storms! More

One room out the back of the pub. Small room, small shower, very small kitchenette. There was bread, butter, very small bottle of juice for breakfast. Supplied toaster, small microwave and small fridge. Noise from pub pa until late evening. Shower atrocious as it kept tripping the electricity, went off twice during daughters shower, three times for mine. Man at... More

Jane, I am so sorry it seems you had a dreadful stay, a culmination of things it seems. You don't say when you stayed so it is difficult for me to look into things now unless you would be so kind as to let me know? It seems the main problem was the shower, now the enclosure itself is a... More

We visited on a weekday night, very quiet, it had just opened. We chose a fish starter, very nice, followed by gammon and all the trimmings, under the meal deal. Very nicely cooked. The service was slow, in relation to the number of people there, and a pet hate of mine, is when someone that comes in after you, gets... More

Thanks for the review, I am pleased that you enjoyed your meal but apologise we were a bit slow. We try to be as fast as we can while cooking everything fresh but from your comment about 'when someone that comes in after you, gets their main before yours' it appears there was probably some sort of mix up with... Anyone not giving this place top marks has probably not understood “the deal”. Understandable perhaps as it is a bit of an oddball. Not a hotel, not a b&B, not quite a self catering apartment. This is the only room available at the Bell (which has an excellent restaurant btw). It is a detached converted garage (though you’d never spot... More

Giving 3 star rating due to the food being so nice but for nothing else related to our visit.Arranged a table for a Friday lunchtime visit with elderly In-laws as a bit of a treat for Mothers day and a drive out from South Northants. On initially contacting this establishment i mention "Tastecard" and had the impression over the phone that... Booked for lunch on a Monday. Only us 4 plus 2 others there. Nice friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere despite being rather lonely!! Good choice of menu. We could have gone for 2 for £15 but decided on a la carte. Well presented and reasonable quantity, but a bit pricey. With drinks £130. Will try the cheaper option next time... More

We stayed at Salford Hall and The Bell had good write ups for food so we gave it a go. Glad we did as the food was excellent and at 2 meals for 15 quid it was good value for money. I had the gammon and egg expecting it to be thin water injected meat, not so, a proper steak... More

My new husband and I had our wedding breakfast at the bell and we had a perfect day. The food was delicious and the service brilliant. Dave provided us with all the little extras to make our day extra special. Nothing was to much trouble. My parents stayed in the lovely little bungalow they have and had a great night.... More

We stayed for 4 nights in June - however we had already visited the pub the previous year - so already knew that the accommodation was a small self contained bungalow at the rear of the Bell. The bedroom is a reasonably sized, very clean and comfortable room, with a king size bed plus a table and 2 chairs, and... More
