Friends had raved about this place and I was not disappointed. Great choice of specials. Excited by the prospect of the "Belly Welly" starter but in truth it was a tad overdone. The hake main was superb though. Praise also for the cod loin and burger from my companions. Delightful staff and great location. Perhaps a little pricey but the... More

Quite simply the best pub food I have ever had, it was great! I had gnocchi with asparagus which was unusual but so tasty and my partner said the pie was the best he had ever had. My only criticism was that it felt slightly grotty, this may have been down to the age of the building and difficulties in... More

This pub has been a favourite of my family for years and on visiting my grandparents nearby we went here for dinner in the evening. It was my first time here for years and I was astonished at the quality and generosity of the food. Everything from the Belly Welly - a must-try for pork lovers everywhere and which had... More

The meal we had at the Tickers Arms was the best pub food I have eaten in years. The staff were friendly and attentive but didn't intrude on the meal. I won't describe the food we had. You'll have to go and try it yourself. I have two tips. 1 - Book before you go. 2 - Don't even look... More

Lovely location and the food was simply awesome. Lamb shank roast was fantastic, every element of the meal was delicious! The building was beautiful with roomy tables set in a cosy environment. Would return if ever back in the area without a doubt.

We have been to this lovely pub on a number of occasions and, until recently, the food had always been good. In the last two weeks we have eaten there twice and the food has been very poor. Last Saturday we took family there and I had the special which was sea bass fillet. The fish was overcooked, dry and... More

Stayed a night here while touring the area. The staff were very very welcoming and friendly and made us feel very welcomed. The interior was decorated very well. We had an evening meal and the food was excellent. the whole experience was cosy. This is a wonderful place to stay highly recommended.

We dined at the Tuckers Arms a couple of days ago in the evening. The setting is idyllic, in a pretty Devon village. The thatched Inn has masses of character and the staff are friendly and efficient. As for the food, well, what can I say? Portions are ultra-generous yet the quality is excellent. I had steak and Branoc (local... More

The perfect English pub. We spent two cosy evenings by the fire, staff very welcoming and menu offered fantastic selection. Food wonderful! Our children aged 11 and 13 enjoyed the food as much as we did. Portions generous so go hungry!

A beautiful thatched pub in a stunning gentle Devon village. Mtge landlord and lady are incredibly welcoming and professional. Very dog and child friendly. A lovely little garden for the summer and lit inglenook fireplace for the winter. The food is hearty and delicious, just what you need after a walk through the amazing local countryside. Have and will visit... More
