Myself and friends had dinner here two days running whilst enjoying a golf weekend. The food is excellent and good value with well kept real ales and attentive service. I would recommend a visit particularly if you enjoy traditional food.

A pal and I visit this pub for a lunch on a fairly regular basis. We have found the food excellent, cooked to perfection and very tasty. The menu is extensive, moderately priced and served by very welcoming staff. It is difficult to recommend places to eat as chefs and owners change and standards alter but The Weary Friar I... More

driving from Saltash toward St Mellion you come to a roundabout for Pillaton take the very narrow road all the way up to Pillaton and you come across a lovely old very old pub . Even though this looks remote the place will be crowded so make sure you book! The food is lovely I had the pork belly and... More

Tried booking on both a Saturday and a Sunday but it was fully booked and not in too much of a hurry to answer the phone!! Service was reasonable if not a bit slow even though it was not busy when we were there.

As the title says, can't fault the service, friendly and helpful. We popped in just for a quick lunch after going for a walk, as we were going out for a meal that night we only wanted a bar snack. However, when looking at the menu, there was nothing really that I consider a 'light lunch price'. In the end... More

Lovely good properly cooked food at great prices. Ate here after having to endure 4 awful meals and St Mellion golf club. What a difference. Freshly cooked hot food served quickly and so tasty. A real gem in the area.

Lovely country pub/restaurant. Prices acceptable as food is delicious, perfectly cooked and portions are huge!! Has been very busy whenever we have been so advisable to book I think! We will be back and already looking forward to it.

We stayed at China Fleet. A guest in the spa recommended this pub. From Cf it's about 10 to 15 mins drive, but there are some very narrow and twisty lanes to reach here. Food I had 3 mini crab cakes description spicy crab cakes they weren't but the dip was. Then I had salmon with a lovely white wine... More

We honeymooned here 36 years ago and decided to go back for our anniversary this year. We were a little disappointed to find that the bedrooms were not as we remembered, looking a bit tired and in need of a makeover, particularly the bathroom. The bed was comfy and the bed linen very clean, as were the towels. We have... More
