My wife booked a weekend at St. Mellion as a birthday treat for myself and my son in law to play golf on the Nicklass course being the hardest golf course in the country. The course certainly lived up to its reputation but beautifully landscaped with wooded areas, lakes and rolling hills. the fairways and greens are superb. Although the... More

Stayed here for three nights. Overall in it a decent resort, breakfast is fantastic, bar is nice and service is average. However the beds were awful. This resort apparently does not have any double beds so couples forget it. I find it amazing that a resort like this does not have any Double beds, one would think at least a... More

Our golf club Captain elected to use the resort for this years Captains weekend. There were 64 golfers, with some deciding to stay 6 nights, others 5, 4 or 3, with the main event being over 3 nights 4 days. This situation created a problem for the hotel who for some reason could not guarantee that you could retain the... More

We travelled down on the Monday, when we arrived, the reception was very helpfull, as we hadn't been there before, and didn't know where to go, as it was a bit later than we hoped to arrive, we opted to have a meal in the restaurant, it was nice & tasty, but as we found out later in the week,... There is something about this hotel which is decidedly un-British. It rather reminded us of Bebalup in Spain, which is not a compliment. The place is well run but charmless. Almost everyone did their best to please but as is often the case it was the cleaners and waitresses not the reception management who were most helpful. The bedroom and... More

We have been staying at St.Mellion regularly since my sister and her husband bought a week in June in the original showhome timeshare Lodge in 1984. In nearly thirty years we have seen numerous changes at the Hotel and a reasonable number in the Lodge (although not perhaps as many as we might have hoped - more below!). My sister... More

Stayed here for a spa weekend with four friends June 2014. The spa experience wasn't as good as others I've been too. The treatment itself was very good and the swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi is of a good standard. But we weren't provided with towels, or robes despite asking staff and there was no access to drinks without going out... More

We stayed at this resort for a wedding evening reception. We upgraded to a superior room for a balcony and a view over the golf course. The bride and groom were beautiful, but my husband and I felt the evening was absolutely ruined by the food and cost of drinks! We expected to pay high prices of alcohol, seen as... More

Went to jump in the shower and found shampoo bottles were empty. Had to dress and go to front desk to get some. Last guest's garbage in bathroom hadn't been emptied. Minor apology. Our bus was late leaving the next morning because no one got their wake up calls. Must be a good golf course because the hotel is not... More

To sum up, unless you are >65 mid to low level player with culinary standards from the great depression, DO NOT GO TO ST MELLION. St mellion is a geriatry ward with stuck up locals with delusions of grandure about the place. The "resort" is way past its prime, and the squeky floors, dirty carpets and stingy rooms do not...
