We stayed at the Cromwell this weekend, we booked this hotel directly for a weekend break and was looking forward to staying there. I stayed at this hotel last night ( 27/3/08 ) on business in the county. Although I read the many bad reports from earlier guests, I though I would try for myself. BIG MISTAKE !!! Room was OK, a bit musty. Missing amenities included the hairdryer (and when I rang to ask if they had a spare the answer was a blunt "no"). And no bin. Anywhere. Not in the bathroom or the bedroom. Very strange. Stale refreshments etc. So not terrible but not good. Especially for the price. I stay in lots (and lots)... more

room adequate - breakfast a bit strange - no staff - oh one did turn up after 5 min and seemed mildly surprised to see us - had to seat ouselves and glean cutlery and plates from other tables - food ok - bar rowdy at night - mind it was saturday - cheap drinking though in cromwellian decor -... more
