The best I can say is, "Wow." The Lodge itself was beautiful, bright and cheery, clean, and well decorated. Sat up on the hill, it offers beautiful views of the countryside. I was in Matlock while on a research trip, but would seriously consider coming back for a break just to stay in this B&B - the couple who run it are extremely lovely, and really go out of their way for their guests. Our family stayed here for 4 nights in late December. We took up 3 rooms, 2 on the first floor and 1 on the top floor. Our kids, aged 6 and 8 had one of the rooms to themselves and thoroghly loved it. Since the place was small and very home-like, the kids were not scared about sleeping without us... more
