We booked 3 nights at this picturesque pub as part of a motor cycle road trip. The previous night had involved camping in the tail-end of ex-hurricane Bertha. We arrived at the Cheshire Cheese Inn soaked through and very cold! (We had chosen to stay here because there was a bath.......we felt it would be necessary after 3 days at... More

I am very happy to recommend the Cheshire Cheese and have little doubt that the owner will realise her ambitions to become better still. Yes there is some traffic noise - but not a lot given that it was August - but that is what one gets on a road side location and difficult to sustain a serious complaint given... More

We stayed for a long weekend at The Cheshire Cheese Inn we had mixed feelings on our stay there. The room was overall nice but very noisy with road traffic. Unfortunately the window did not shut properly so we were unable to block the noise out. Traffic along the small country lane was busy at all hours. The bathroom despite... More

I am sorry that you had some issues regarding your stay. During your visit I asked you a number of times if everything was OK and so did the staff. I firmly got the impression that you didn’t want to engage with me which I fully respected. Traffic is usually quieter at night and we’re not on a main road... More

For a meal or a pint, this pub is a must. It is small, on two levels, old and charming. The staff are terrific, the meals excellent and very reasonably priced. The sea bass or their fabulous "Yorkie" are restaurant quality. Tucked away where most tourists would never find it on the Edale to Hope Valley road (lane!) this pub... More

Just back from three night break at Cheshire Cheese Inn. The room was clean and fresh and although we faced onto the road there was no noise from the traffic. Only thing I would mention is the stairs are narrow (very old property) dont try and carry golf clubs and a case up them at the same time (men!!!). The... More

We had a superb 2 night stay at the Cheshire Cheese Inn and were made extremely welcome from the moment we stepped inside. Laura was so easy to hold a conversation with and showed a genuine interest in all of her guests wants and needs. The food was freshly cooked, well presented and tasted great. The rooms were clean and... More

We stayed at the Cheshire Cheese due to attending a family wedding at Losehill Hotel. We are so pleased that we had the privilege of staying here as we were made to feel extremely welcome and really enjoyed the excellent food in the evening which was fantastic value for money. The accommodation was clean and tidy with a very comfy... More

Just returned from a very enjoyable 3 day break at the Cheshire Cheese. It's the perfect base for a break in the area - most of the region's highlights are within close proximity and the well known Mam Tor ridge walk can be done starting from the pub. A good choice of 4-5 beers including local ones, all those I... More

Arrived on time only to be told we were late this was soon resolved & we were shown to our table given menu's. The choice on the menu is good and we all enjoyed the food and deserts over our three visits. The beer is very well kept with a choice of local as well as some from further afield.... More

We stayed 11th and 12th April 2014 and by the time we left we felt like we had increased the size of our family. We were greeted by Matt who, despite his tender age, made us instantly feel welcome and continued with the same level of concern throughout our stay. Laura was equally welcoming and was more than willing to... More
