Having spent a pleasant day exploring some of the delights Derbyshire has to offer we arrived at Foolow at 17.55. The pub opens at 18.30 and we were happy to sit & wait, already there were 2 other cars + occupants doing the same thing. By 18.20 another 5 car loads had arrived, this was a Tuesday evening we did... More

This is a wonderful old pub, refreshingly unpretentious, with a fantastic atmosphere. The location couldn't be better - tucked away in a tiny, picturesque village but close to other villages/towns with more amenities. The surrounding scenery is beautiful. We only stayed for one night but we loved the atmosphere and location so much that we could have stayed another week.... More

Just returned from a wonderful overnight break at the family run Bulls Head Inn Foolow. We arrived to this charming, cosy inn which was covered in a blanket of snow. (The roads had been well-gritted, so no problem there. ) We were shown to our very large and well appointed room with a four-poster bed. The room was definitely hotel... More

Very good menu of fresh homemade food. Good selection of fish meals. Starter of asparagus tagliatelle very good/ Turkey, ham and leek pie excellent, and generous, as was the fish pie. All in all a very pleasant lunch. Will return. The location is excellent; a great place to walk from. Good country.

Had two nights in May with my wife and relations. We stayed stayed in room 1. Our party stayed in the other rooms.Comfortable beds.Ample supply of toiletries, refreshments, towels even fluffy white dressing gowns. Good bathroom with shower although hot and cold took a little learning. The restaurant is very popular but they reserve a table for residents use only. The meals were... More

We stayed at the nearby Brosterfield Farm (which is also a great place to stay) and after reading the guest book and TripAdvisor reviews we decided to visit the Bulls head for some dinner. Firstly I would recommend booking. We were lucky enough to get there at opening time so bagged a table in the bar, however within an hour... More

Great place to stay. Everything was excellent; the room, food, bar and dining room and the service was special. Mein host was really in control, everything was well organised. The was only downside, for a member of CAMRA like me, was that the bar closed from 3:00 to 6:30 every day, except it was open all day. Great centre for... More
