Firstly it's a lovely pub,the staff and landlord are friendly and welcoming so it gets 4*s for that and pains me to write negatives in my review - I would recommend the place it just needs to meet expectations - it's not a fine dining establishment although it suggests so on the website and for a chef that raised my... just got back from spending a weekend at the bulls head, after reading some of the negative reviews, we were pleasantly surprised how professional and friendly everyonewas even on Saturday night when it was packed how swiftly the meals came out and at such good quality. it was that nice we have booked again to come at Christmas,

We found the staff unfriendly; they were whispering to each other behind the bar which was off putting. Their attitude appeared insincere. Potatoes were cold. We were offered a £5 refund because of this but we'd have preferred hot food. In fact we only received a £4 refund as the bar lady made a mistake.

Arrived in the afternoon and the place was locked up - had to ask the neighbours for advice and they went out of their way to try and contact the owners. Room was nice but nobody explained the extremely inflexible breakfast arrangements - there was a note pinned to the back of the door which never drew our attention until... More

Lets get some some facts right shall we, 1 when ever a B&B is taken we tell the clients the opening times and if they are arriving out side these how to get in to the rooms, 2 breakfast is served at 8.30 NOT 8.00 as stated in the above ,you will have also been told about this when checking... More

stayed here for three nights with friends and their dog and found the accommodation to be of a very high standard - we can recommend room 3 for its space, decor and lovely bathroom. Great place to eat and drink too. Very friendly staff and welcoming to the dog too. Very good value too - we look forward to going... More

We visited this pub several times during our stay in a nearby cottage in Foolow. We always received a warm welcome. Food and beer excellent. Dog friendly - our dog Mollie was always made very welcome.

Stayed for 2 nights and have only positive things to say. Absolutely spotless bedroom and bathroom. Good food in the restaurant at very reasonable price but suggest that you book ahead as it gets full with locals. Good menu, with daily specials and lots of choice. Would stay there again and would highly recommend it for a meal or place... More

We decided to eat here whilst staying in Eyam. We opted for the Sunday lunch which was very nice but I was slightly disappointed in the turkey which seemed very processed and I only had 2 very small roast potatoes that were very white in colour. The steak we received was quite disappointing too but I was really impressed when... More

Stayed here for 3 nights with girlfriends. Very clean and comfortable accommodation and a friendly pub to return to after a day of walking. A good choice of food and beers on offer - though I wasn't impressed with the tinned grapefruit at breakfast and the fact that one had to arrive promptly at 8:30am - or you go without... More

Went for a pub lunch with all the family, having heard good things. The food is average at best......Frozen chips, frozen burger, poor quality bread. The pate starter had a larger slab of supermarket bread than the roll provided!! Having eaten most of what was provided, my wife then found a large, dirty stone under her salad! The 'cook' came...
