My wife said she knew we were going to enjoy our stay the moment she walked through the door. The welcome by the staff was warm, as was the log fire. Our rooms were comfortable (3rooms) and we all found sleep quality was good. I found no problem with road noise as our room had secondary double glazing. We had... More

I have visited the chequers several times in recent years on my many day trips to Derbyshire and I have to say that this is one pub that seems to do everything right. It is immaculately clean, the atmosphere is very special ( even on quieter days), the service is always friendly but efficient and the food is absolutely wonderful... More

As we were visiting Chatsworth House, we decided to make a night of it and stayed in this delightful hotel. The staff were welcoming and friendly and we were happy with our room. The food we had in the restaurant/bar was amazing - everything was so tasty. My partner can also recommend the Bakewell Bitter - that went down very... More

Enjoyed a lovely meal here on a Tuesday evening - the staff were very nice and friendly. My partner was thrilled that there was Wards on draft which is quite rare to find these days. The menu has a very good variety of dishes and a specials board. Will definitely visit again.

We stayed with friends for two nights whilst visiting the area, The food in the restaurant was first class as was breakfast, the staff very helpful and friendly. Good location spoiled by noise of traffic. Rooms were very jaded, though clean and reasonably comfortable. Curtains very worn and starting to fall apart! Overall room decor very dated and in need... The staff were very good and food amazing but let down by the room. The room was clean but very tatty. Chipped paintwork, no plug chain on the bath, carpet stained, furniture worn. The quality of the rooms does not justify £85.00 per night. When I visit this area again I would stay somewhere else but go to the Chequers... More

We stayed for 3 nights at the Chequers Inn. Whilst we thought £85 B&B was a little expensive for a pub it was more than worth it. Although directly on a road the location is beautiful with views from the hillside woodland garden stunning. You definitely need a car if staying here but there is ample car parking. The pub... More

We chose to stay at the Chequers Inn based on its location as we were visiting various places nearby. It is on a straight road which although not a main road, is quite busy at peak times. Our superior room (room 6) was at the front of the hotel. The weather was very hot so the old sash windows were... More

We stayed here as it is located in the Hope Valley, actually it is not in Hope where we know and walk but it turned out to be just as good. Charming place with everything you would expect from a B&B and more. Friendly and helpful staff, nice rooms and facilities but the food was a high point. We had... More
