The staff were very good and food amazing but let down by the room. The room was clean but very tatty. Chipped paintwork, no plug chain on the bath, carpet stained, furniture worn. The quality of the rooms does not justify £85.00 per night. When I visit this area again I would stay somewhere else but go to the Chequers... More

We stayed for 3 nights at the Chequers Inn. Whilst we thought £85 B&B was a little expensive for a pub it was more than worth it. Although directly on a road the location is beautiful with views from the hillside woodland garden stunning. You definitely need a car if staying here but there is ample car parking. The pub... More

We chose to stay at the Chequers Inn based on its location as we were visiting various places nearby. It is on a straight road which although not a main road, is quite busy at peak times. Our superior room (room 6) was at the front of the hotel. The weather was very hot so the old sash windows were... More

We stayed here as it is located in the Hope Valley, actually it is not in Hope where we know and walk but it turned out to be just as good. Charming place with everything you would expect from a B&B and more. Friendly and helpful staff, nice rooms and facilities but the food was a high point. We had... More

This hotel provided all the necessary elements that were promised but somehow it didn't quite hit the excellence spot. The rooms were comfortable, although I'm told the single beds were less comfortable and the shower did run cold a couple of times mid-shower. The building is on a busy road but after hiking each day, we didn't notice it as... More

If you are looking for an unspoilt location, a comfortable stay with great food and hospitality this place has it all. A stones throw from all the great attractions in the peaks, the restaurant bar has character and serves excellent food. The "secret garden" out the back and up some quaint stone steps was the perfect place to listen to... More

Stayed here for one night, booking the accommodation through booking.com and getting a very good rate. On arrival we were shown up to our room, Room 1 a standard double with a good size bathroom that contained a bath as well as a shower. As we had been hiking for a few hours it was nice to be able to... More

Stayed here with friends and were were really impressed with the quality of the food. Excellent location you can walk to the edge from the pub door. Rooms have character, don't expect all the mod cons and wifi is poor but go to enjoy the food, drinks and location.

Called in, without booking, for Sunday lunch Lovely atmosphere...tables not too close together, but the inn was full of character. The food was delicious and plentiful. The service was cheerful & friendly I recommend it highly!
