Stayed at the Red Lion on a Friday night, situated right in the heart of the town. The staff were very helpful and friendly.. Shown to our room which was clean, warm, tidy and surprisingly quiet. Had an evening meal which was very tasty, great draught bitter. Breakfast is excellent and the service the same. The farmers market on the... More

Just returned from an overnight stay at the Red Lion and am extremely happy with our accommodation. Should you be looking for a bed for the night whilst visiting Bakewell then you can't go wrong with this lace. Staff are extremely courteous and always on hand. Room was small but comfortable, it's not the Ritz but it doesn't try to... More

We stayed on a Friday and Saturday night for a friend's wedding being held nearby. The location was good - the pub is located right in the centre of Bakewell and even though it is on the main road we didn't find the external noise to be a problem. The staff were really friendly and helpful - providing an iron... More

Very good welcome. We did not eat in the restaurant at night but the choice looked good. The breakfast was of an excellent standard and nicely presented. Room was clean and had all we required. Good value for money.

On a day trip to Derbyshire, a large group of us stopped off for our pre-booked Christmas meal at The Red Lion. We arrived at the pub on time, but were all kept waiting thirty minutes for the first course of soup to be served. Rather than serving the main course one table at a time, people were served by... My wife & I have just returned from a four day stay at the Red Lion. At first we thought our room a bit on the small side, but actually it was fine. Our room was very well decorated, spotless and the bed very comfortable. My wife was alparticularly impressed with the quality of the cotton bed linen. The breakfasts... More
