We had arranged to meet family from other areas here as it was a central point for us and it had good reviews. Unfortunately when I arrived and asked if we could have a table for 10 mid week in an empty restaurant I was told that I should have called 4 hours earlier because there was no way they... More

Just back from our lovely stay at the castle inn, Bakewell. The staff were very welcoming & helpful & Our room was huge & very clean. The breakfast was fabulous - we had so much to eat that we couldn't eat for the rest of the day - well worth the money. The only little problem was the parking, your... More

Great little pub just off the main road. The staff are friendly and helpful and there is a good choice of food. There is also a small beer garden to the side of the pub. My tip is to go early, eapecially on market days (Mondays) when the pub gets very busy.

Management response:

Thank you for your review. We are really happy you enjoyed your experience with us at the Castle and that is a very good and helpful tip for other visitors to Bakewell wishing to visit on Monday's. More

We stay here each year for Bakewell show as it is very convenient, the rooms have refurbished and are improved, we stayed in Chatsworth which has a lounge area as well. The breakfast is always chaotic but is very good one it comes - there are never enough staff on duty and the poor chef is cooking and trying to... More

Management response:

Our rooms look really nice now after being refurbished and shortly we will have two brand new rooms available for our visitors to stay in. We are looking at staffing levels for breakfast to take some pressure off the chef, he does cook a cracking breakfast though. Thank you for your review and we look forward to welcoming you back... Very clean and comfortable room. The staff were very friendly. The parking is limited, so get there early. If you are unable to park, there is a large car park across the river, very close to the Inn. The hotel is very central, and Bakewell is a lovely town.

We stayed at the Castle Inn for 3 nights. The room was excellent as it has recently been refurbished. Only down side was that we had booked a double room and the bed was 2 singles joined together with large ridge in the middle. Breakfast was lovely. Staff were helpful. Evening meal was good value for money. Good walks around... More

Very cheap lunch, way better standard than the dreaded 2 for 10 style pub. I had the penne Arabiatta, which was good, fresh tasting sauce, but the pasta over cooked. The others had excellent fish and chips, fresh, good portions. Recommended especially as it has free parking to boot!

The Castle Inn is in a great location, just on the edge of the town of Bakewell. It's two minutes walk to the centre and in walking distance from many pubs, restaurants, cafes etc. It also sits right next to the river and iconic bridge of bakewell which is really pretty. The bedroom was comfy and spacious, although the bathroom... More

It was the best Lamb Shank dinner I've ever had! Attentive, thorough and welcoming service with excellent quality food! Ideal location as well as it right by the bridge into the town. The restaurant section of the pub was smaller than the average pub but that just enhanced the homely feel. Thank you! Would highly recommend!
