Great central location with easy to find parking and good service. Rooms are a bit tired and could do with updating but would definitely recommend the breakfast as the chef that served us was so friendly and the food was great that It made our stay!

Popped over to Bakewell for the day and had lunch in the Castle, two fish and chips for £12 seemed too good t be true but had a go anyway. Food arrived very quickly and was outstanding, fresh and perfectly cooked. Highly recommended and will be trying other similar establishments on my travels. Thank you to the manager who although... The staff were friendly and welcoming but the accomadation was the dirtiest place that I have ever stayed in if I could have gone to another b&b I would have but everywhere was fully booked or out of our price range also I felt if we complained it could cause an atmosphere as we had to go down for breakfast... Stayed at the castle inn and found the staff to be very welcoming and friendly, could not do enough for us, even informed us when our regular table was available, lovely open fire , good size rooms, good meals and reasonable prices, would definitely stay here again.

We selected the Castle Inn as a base for exploring the area and possibly a balloon flight from the nearby show ground. (it's very weather dependent). The room (one of only 4) was spacious and the bed huge and comfy, but a cracked hand basin, impossible coat hangers and harsh lighting spoil an otherwise cosy room. (Oh and why do... More

We booked into the family room as this was what was available. The room was large and comfortable and there were 2 double beds in it. The decor was a little dated but the room was generally clean. There was a fault with the shower head which we informed staff of as we left. The breakfast was amazing. Plenty to... More

Came here for food and drinks on separate occasions. Friendly staff, always found somewhere to sit, good menu and good drinks, both reasonably priced. Also nice that it is a dog friendly pub! All dogs get a warm welcome by the staff. The castle looked the most welcoming pub out of all the others and I would return if I'm... More

Stayed in Bakewell for a week and visited this pub for a drink on the first day and beer was very good. Went back to try the food and enjoyed it so returned twice more during the week to eat. Staff were very friendly every time and food fresh and good value together with beer well kept. Waitress with red... More

Went here to eat but only ended up having a drink as was put off by the disgusting attitude of the man working behind the bar a tall fella with dark hair with absolutely no manners at all . From the minute we entered the place, all we heard come out of his mouth was how much he hated his... More
