My husband and I stayed at The Castle for a few days earlier in July. Gary, Claire and all the staff are so friendly and helpful. Very busy hotel with great food. The rooms, although very clean, are tired and the room we stayed in needs a new bed! Please Old English Inns, give them some money to raise the... More

It was large and very spacious so plenty of room for the dog but there was black mould around the bath and the whole room seemed very basic and in need of a... More

We visited the Castle Sunday 11/05/14 However on Sunday we encounted Michael, and about 20 mins later, we saw him bring out some food to another table which was what we ordered, the couple told him, it was not their order. He snatched the food from the table, and I got up realising the mistake tried to stop him taking... More

First impressions of this pub are of a warm, welcoming & friendly place (the type of old English pub you'd choose to take visitors from abroad). Today we visited with family (4 adults, one child & a dog). Drinks were served promptly but the food side of things needs improving. Our food took over 40 minutes to arrive then one... More

Great central location with limited on site parking. Lovely staff (receptionist moved her car to let me park and unpack!). Rooms basic but clean - overall good location for a trip walking in the peak. Good fry up breakfast.

I stayed for 2 nights. however I wouldn't return or recommend it as a place to stay as it the room was really quite grotty! the room was seriously in need of a deep... More
