Allocated room 4 which is noisy when trying to sleep due to the air conditioning unit from the kitchen below which is right outside the room. Bedroom good, new wardrobes and other furniture but the bathroom needs updating as looking a bit shabby. Free parking and close to the centre of Bakewell which was good.

We have spent the Bank Holiday in Bakewell and have stayed, once again , at the Castle inn run by the genial Gary and Claire - From the minute we arrived and parked up on their car park, we were greeted like old friends by Claire. We had requested Room 1 as this was our favourite and by 11.00 it... More

Having stayed at the Castle Inn before I did not feel the need to check on trip advisor and we were looking forward to a second visit. While the staff were warm and welcoming the room was very disappointing. The room had a thick layer of dust on every surface and skirting boards, the bathroom had other peoples hair all... More

We popped in to The Castle for a meal (did not stay overnight) and found a very warm and friendly welcome from all the staff. We ate from the budget menu, 2 main meals for £9.99 and were very pleased. The food was hot and tasty and delivered in good time. The young lad who was waiting on tables was... More

Stayed at the Castle Inn for 2 nights bed amazing best nights sleep I have had in a hotel for ages, great pillows lovely crisp white sheets. Shower great but slightly let down with the extractor not working in the bathroom so mould stains on ceiling. Get it sorted as we want to come back at Christmas!

Visited the pub sunday afternoon for a nice sunday lunch. Its 2.30pm pub is quiet, menu looks ok so ordered 2 Lamb shanks. Sadly havent got any. These things happen but the main day of the week, I think stock needs reviewing. Toilets a bit off putting so glad we ate elsewhere.

Visited after spending the day around the Bakewell area. Lovely pub close to the heart of the town. Had four meals off the two for £9.99 menu and all of the meals were hot, not over cooked, tasty and very good value for money. The pub was clean and tidy and so were the toilets. The staff also very friendly.... More

Lovely little pub in the heart of bakewell. Ordered food at the bar and the bar lady was one of the loveliest ladies I've ever met! Fab service. We moved tables to outside because the weather was lovely and the staff were really good about it and brought our food out without hassle. Basic pub food but was nice, was... More

We stayed here one night in order to attend an evening wedding reception on a nearby village. NB if you will be requiring a taxi, there is no rank in Bakewell. The hotel reception helpfully provided a list of taxi firms but as there were other events on locally, despite calling 13 different numbers, we were unable to book a... More

Great location next to the bridge over the river, part of a pleasant pub. A large bedroom with TV and free wifi. The bathroom let it down though. In need of a clean in room 2 but really needs updating
