We had a family day out at Monsal Head and had a super lunch in the stable bar. Friendly bar staff added to the day and there was no problem with the chaos our family tend to evoke when ordering food. I would highly recommend the belly pork cob as it tasted superb but other options were also praised. Thank... More

This is in a beautiful setting with great views. We were a large party and had booked a table in a private room. This meant it wasn't in the main public bar or hotel but was shared with other diners. This wasn't as we expected. And we didn't get the one table for 16 we expected, but had two tables... More

My wife and I wanted a weekend away with our Dog walking in The Peak District, I picked out the Monsal Head Hotel before I read Trip advisor, Which I normally do because I write reviews regularly. However, we arrived on Friday evening after work, checked in ok and took our bags up to room 3. The views from the... More

Stayed at the Monsal Head hotel for two nights and could not fault the place The two night stay was our first time walking in the Peak District with our pet dog,and we will definately be back . We had to pay an extra £10 a night for our pet Labrodoodle to be in our room but we totally understand... More

Stayed for 2 nights over the weekend. The Hotel is in a stunning location. We had the dinner bed and breakfast option. The food in the hotel is fantastic. The room we had was an en suite double room. The room had an amazing view. The room was spacious and traditionally furnished. Our only criticism was the shower facilities. There... More

I’ve been eating at this place for years. But something has changed. The Specials Board was sparse. The old favorite burger with a slab of Stilton is now something akin to a hamburger and the ribs although full of flavor (nice sauce) was not the best cut. Can we have it back as it used to be please? However one... More

This is not our first visit, it will not be the last. Having stayed in many 'high-end' hotels (the Langham, Fairmount, Shangri-La) I can honestly say that I would choose this place over all of them. The hotel is small and is immediately adjacent to the Stables Bar. Our room was traditionally furnished, slightly dated but with a real charm.... More

We were walking the dales and stopped at the pub for a drink. The views and location are fantastic. It has great views over Monsal Dale and a great place to start a walk. The pub has a large and pleasant outdoor seating area. The place is ok. It was midweek and with only a few customers it took ages... More

We have often eaten at the Monsal Head in the past but on a previous visit (about a year ago) we thought the standards had dropped. Went there for a meal to celebrate my birthday and they have gone right back up again - in fact I think the food was better than we have ever had there. I had... More

Had a drive up and woo the view and drop is amazing . Make sure you take a coat as its a it windy but well worth the chill . There's also a really nice little old pub there which sells great beer and the food looks good and they have a really nice seating area outside . The only... More
