My family visited this pub for a celebration. The food was good but we found two of the staff very unhelpful and surly. The other waitress was very friendly and obviously in a role that she enjoyed and its a pity the other senior members of staff didnt have the same attitude. We spent over £150.00 and we didnt expect... More

Just returned from a bargain winter break. One night dinner, bed, and breakfast for £99 for two people. Food and service were both excellent. You will never meet a more passionate committed man than Keith, the general manager. His enthusiasm for his job is infectious. Some nice little touches were a bottle of wine in the room on arrival. A... More

Very friendly, helpful, & efficient staff. Excellent high standard of food which was freshly cooked, all served at the table. Very good New year 5 course dinner. Unfortunately the uninspiring "musician" was not enjoyed. Pleasant spacious restaurant, with good space between the comfortable sized tables. Large sized bedroom with a very comfortable bed. Furniture v. old. Various fittings needing repair--I.e.soap... More

The Stables Bar is separate to the main hotel building. It would be, seeing as it obviously was once a stables. Very nicely converted it still has the original floor that has some amusing features - just look down when you're sat in one of the stalls. A great range of real ales are offered and it is staffed by... More

We stayed in this hotel for one night recently: Pros: amazing location, great service, comfortable bed. Cons: Rooms are run down and carpet in the room was dirty. Shower was not cleaned and the shampoo and body wash from previous guests were still sitting on top of shower unit half empty. The shower pressure was pretty poor. Others: food was... More

To meet up with my sister, we chose a spot halfway between Otley and Telford. Wife's internet roving came up with this place. We got a room that had not been done up yet (according to the manager), but it was fine. Amazing views of the Wye valley, and interesting walks. But the food was wonderful. Thoughtful, careful cooking, in... More

Just returned back from another great weekend away at the Monsel Head, Hotel - located just above the monsel trail viaduct. THe hotel is well managed and employs friendly, welcoming staff. The food is second to none, we enjoyed 2 nights of 3 course meals and breakfasts the following day where the staff make sure you do not go hungry.... More

We called in for lunch this week having heard great things about the food. We were very warmly welcomed by the Manager and his delightful wife and shown to a table by a roaring log burner which was very welcome on a chilly afternoon. We ordered our food and a local beer and a very nice glass of wine and... More

I attended the Monsal Head Hotel for a 2 day stay in November. On arrival in the evening there was no one on reception and when I finally located the bell a very unhelpful young lady arrived at the desk. I travel extensively but this young lady made me feel that I was a huge pain in the bottom. The... More

Dear Debbie L, Thank you for your husbands response we do not agree with any of the comments as your Husband was looked after very by all our staff including his special request for a take away steak sandwich as he was in a hurry.
