The pub is in the perfect spot just a short walk from the centre of Bakewell. We had a two night stay which we booked on the basis of the excellent reviews and the car park. Lovely comfortable well furnished room and facilities. I loved the continental breakfast left in the very efficient fridge which made for a leisurely breakfast... More

After a five hour bike ride we arrived in Bakewell, town was busy but just outside we stumbled upon The Manners. We sat in the lovely secret garden and ordered 3 scampi, a burger and a fish and chips, everything was extremely tasty, superb, Ben, our waiter was excellent, looking after us and filling our water bottles when we left.... My husband,a friend and I enjoyed a meal at the Manners a few weeks ago. The food was delightful,I had the scampi, which, was done in a homemade beer batter. My husband had a burger and our friend had the fish pie. All three meals were wonderful, and good value for money. The service was good and the staff attentive.... More

At the risk of appearing to patronise I would want to say to all who might be tempted to 'pass-by' The Manners - DON'T! The service was friendly and professional (how often have we had friendly service but 'less than best' offerings). The meal was best restaurant standard - absolutely delicious and wonderfully well presented. Our party was made up... More

Had lunch here with friends and chose it based purely on its close proximity to their place of work. I'm very glad we did as it was one of the best pub lunches I've had in ages! The pub itself seemed honest and unpretentious and the staff were great. It's worth walking a few hundred yards out of the town... More

We booked a table on our first night in Bakewell and were happy that we had done. All four of us had a two course meal which was absolutely delicious. The staff were attentive, checking everything was fine with our meals and provided excellent service throughout. We were so impressed with our experience that we ate there again on our... More

Dined here on Saturday, the staff were fab. I ordered a pan fried fillet steak which was delicious and cooked to perfection (rare), it came with potatoes cooked in duck fat and they were awful but no reflection on the chef as my husband loved them and ate them with his steak and unicorn pie (they did not serve him... We needed somewhere in Bakewell for lunch and this place was suggested. I was sceptical at first, but so glad we gave it a try! The food was excellent! Presentation was great and the surroundings comfortable. The service was friendly and very welcoming. The big plus-factor for us was the ample parking! We will certainly come again!
