Had an enjoyable stay with my wife for a pre Christmas trip travelling from Derby. Room was very nice and cosy. Nice pub and good choice of drinks. If your looking for a cooked breakfast this is not for you. However the continental breakfast is good and already set up in the rooms with fridge etc. Good if you want... More

We were staying locally and this pub was recommended for evening meal. We were 4 female work mates with different tastes. The menu was extensive, we chose steak (served on a wooden platter with chips etc in large ramekins), fresh scampi served in a miniature bucket, fresh finely chopped salad in a ramekin, served on a black slate), seafood pasta... Stayed for one night visiting our son who is at university nearby. Room 1 was clean and nicely decorated with a spacious ensuite with a bath and shower. Breakfast was a continental style breakfast which was stored in the room's fridge. There was plenty of good quality ham, cheese, croissants, cereals and yoghurt - a very nice breakfast. We also... The pub is in the perfect spot just a short walk from the centre of Bakewell. We had a two night stay which we booked on the basis of the excellent reviews and the car park. Lovely comfortable well furnished room and facilities. I loved the continental breakfast left in the very efficient fridge which made for a leisurely breakfast... More

After a five hour bike ride we arrived in Bakewell, town was busy but just outside we stumbled upon The Manners. We sat in the lovely secret garden and ordered 3 scampi, a burger and a fish and chips, everything was extremely tasty, superb, Ben, our waiter was excellent, looking after us and filling our water bottles when we left.... My husband,a friend and I enjoyed a meal at the Manners a few weeks ago. The food was delightful,I had the scampi, which, was done in a homemade beer batter. My husband had a burger and our friend had the fish pie. All three meals were wonderful, and good value for money. The service was good and the staff attentive.... More

At the risk of appearing to patronise I would want to say to all who might be tempted to 'pass-by' The Manners - DON'T! The service was friendly and professional (how often have we had friendly service but 'less than best' offerings). The meal was best restaurant standard - absolutely delicious and wonderfully well presented. Our party was made up... More
