My partner and I recently stayed at The Avenue for a long weekend. I booked the B&B after reading many reviews and it seemed to be just what we wanted and within walking distance to town centre. I cannot understand why no other reviews mentioned the traffic noise? We were in a room on the front and as this was... More

Lovely B&B, located 2 minutes walk from bakewell city centre. Arrived in Bakewell at its best - on carnival day. Room was huge and very comfortable. Mary was a good hostess and made us feel very welcome. The breakfasts were amazing. We had a lovely time and we will be back.

Walking distance to all Bakewell's attractions the Avenue offers a relaxing haven. Lovely large room with a comfortable bed you can stretch out and relax. Breakfast was hearty and delicious and our host was thoughtful and helpful. Internet was good and free off road parking was a bonus.

We booked up at very short notice for one night at the Avenue House B&B. Mary is the owner and made us feel very welcome. We had a lovely front of the house upstairs room and the bed was very comfortable. There was a communal fridge outside our room that had fresh milk in so we could make tea and... More

We had two bedrooms at the Avenue and found both to be extremely spacious with soft bedding, comfortable beds and everything very clean. The breakfast was a wonderful start to each of our three days and I am already missing the sausages! Mary is an excellent host, providing really useful recommendations for places to eat and making us feel welcome... More

Stayed here for two nights, clean, comfortable and a hearty breakfast, great location, only a short walk into Bakewell centre, what more could you want! Mary was helpful with where to eat, we liked the Peacock for dinner and the Blackwell tart cafe just up the road from the B&B for lunch, can recommend there pies!

I have just returned from a four night/three day break at this establishment. Mary – the owner – is a delightful lady for whom nothing is too much trouble and she contributed outstandingly to my enjoyment of the experience. The house was probably the home of a Victorian professional family, with high ceilings, huge windows and whopping rooms. It has... More

We stay here on the recommendations of family who have been before and can honestly say this is best B and B we have ever stayed at. We were greated as family by the owner and had a wonderful stay. The room was comfortable and clean, and the breakfast was out of this world! Highly recommended and lived up to... More

We spent just one night in Bakewell but we sure will be coming back and we will be staying here! A semi last minute idea was to celebrate my wife's birthday by having a mini break. My wife, 7 year old daughter and I decided we would like to explore the village of Bakewell and then travel on the following... More
