If you like old country houses you will love this place, it's history goes back 900 years. Today the hotel is a nice quiet and picturesque place set in the Derbyshire countryside. On our stay we had a nice room at the front of the hotel which overlooked the terrace and the fields going down, everything was provided tea and... More

We visited as a family of 5, for Sunday lunch to celebrate a special Birthday. We come to Hassop Hall several times a year and are always made very welcome and always enjoy the splendid surroundings. The Sunday lunch menu has remained unchanged for as long as we remember but is extensive enough to always be a hard decision as... More

I have been staying at Hassop Hall for more than 20 years and it is one of my favourite places. As usual the bedroom was spotlessly clean with a wonderfully comfortable bed. Lovely staff - and I really like the fact that they are individual personalities rather than the automatons in some hotels. The menu is superb quality and traditional... More

We had dinner here last evening ,on the whole a very pleasent experience . The approach to the hall is splendid , we were warmly greated at the the door and shown to a very snug bar area for pre dinner drinks. The room is very well decorated, and a welcoming open fire.only one comfortable chair which had seen better... More

Hassop Hall is in a beautiful location near Bakewell. We were given a warm welcome before being shown to our rooms. My room was large and had an elevated area with chairs positioned in front of bay windows giving a wonderful view over the gardens to the peaks beyond - a very tranquil setting. Another aspect provided a view over... More

We have just returned from our 2nd visit with overnight stay with family to celebrate our Mothers birthday and it was fabulous. My husband and I had a lovely spacious superior room (number 29), with a fantastic modern bathroom with roll top bath and huge wet room style shower. The staff are so welcoming and the food was excellent (I... More

Very friendly people gave us a warm welcome. The house is quirky but the rooms are comfortable and attractively furnished in a nostalgic sort of a way. The gardens are abundantly stocked and it is clear that they are regularly maintained. The time of year (Mid March) did not show them off at their best, but the range of plants... More

Immediate impressions are fabulous - long straight drive up towards a genuine minor stately home in its own grounds - gravelled car park and a beautiful view. Inside is just as good - nicely appointed reception areas and friendly, welcoming staff, who helped us with the bags. The bedrooms are tastefully decorated, large, well furnished and comfortable, with an amazing... More

We Stayed for Saturday night dinner and an overnight stay for our wedding anniversary and the experience is well over and above expectations. Nothing is to much trouble for the staff, who are all very friendly and there always seems to be somebody available. The dinner was excellent comfortably 5 star, as was the individually served fresh cooked breakfast. The... More

We have recently had a Golden Wedding Celebration here. What a joy it was from first booking to the actual evening. Everyone was so welcoming and helpful without being too gushing. The food was absolutely wonderful and the atmosphere at this lovely hotel was warm and the surroundings Beautiful. Top marks for everything. Dinah G.
