This is our second stay at Bagshaw Hall in the Sleep Lodge, to be honest we only booked in here because the pub we usually stay in was fully booked up, we were here for the Show and left it too late to book. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, we had a bath with an powerful shower, we... More

My wife and I stayed in the Ranulf Ffienes room, in the Sleep Lodge, for 2 nights. It was a lovely room - big, with a big comfortable bed and 2 chairs (unusual to have comfortable seating in a hotel these days). There was a fridge (great for wine and beer - oh, and food) hotplate and microwave. It was... More

In need of TLC IMHO. Overpriced for what it is @ £80 per night for "self catering"with no oven and just a microwave and fridge. Functionally OK but would consider cheaper alternatives in surrounding villages next time!

If this is self catering, then there needs to be an oven and hob as a basic requirement. If it is an hotel, then I would expect the room to be serviced; towels changed and bed made plus breakfast available - which was not mentioned by the woman who greeted us. The lodge where we stayed was just an en... More

First of all I would assume the term “Senior Contributor” means that this person has many complaints to make wherever visited and we are not being singled out for special treatment. Our guests are usually pleasantly surprised to find a full size fridge in their room and in addition a microwave, small round sink, toaster, kettle, real coffee with a... More

Young couple visiting Bakewell for the first time and we stayed here for one night over the weekend. We were met by a very friendly lady (Georgina), who met us in the car park and showed us to our room. We stayed in the Ray Mears Suite, which was very nice! Basic rooms, but had everything we needed for our... More

Stayed here for three nights with seven friends over the bank holiday. The accommodation was in twin bedded rooms in blocks of four, two up, two down. The upstairs rooms had fantastic views over Bakewell. The rooms were clean and comfortable. You have a small kitchen area with everything needed for basic self catering. The bathrooms are a good size... More

The website is confusing as there are two types of property on the same site it seems - rooms in Bagshaw Hall, and rooms in The Sleep Lodge. When booking make sure you know which you are booking as we were confused. We were in The Sleep Lodge, and did not experience the hall at all as it is separate... More

I am completely amazed at the extent and tone of this report. I'm surprised they didn't go so far as to take the carpet up to check the underlay! How ironic to call themselves "Happy Campers"! Our website is perfectly clear, and our booking confirmation gave them precise details of what these guests had booked. To be confused between Bagshaw... More

We stayed mid week at the sleep lodge in Bakewell as a handy central place to tour the Peaks. Prompt service and easy parking. The room was sunny and pleasant with a large comfy bed, slept in every morning which was great, woken by the gentle tweeting of birds. Tea making facilities, microwave, fridge etc all provided. There was a... More

We have just spent the night in the Sleep Lodge Bakewell . What a perfect find this was. Near to the centre of the town but hidden away in a lovely quiet spot , We enjoyed a perfect nights sleep in a smartly furnished room. There was a clean well equipped shower room ensuite and excellent kitchenette. We have stayed... More

My friend and I had a really good stay here recently when we visited the Peak District. The apartment was just 1mins walk from the centre of Bakewell yet up a small hill so we were always able to have a good nights sleep away from any noise. Comfortable beds and a nice en-suite. No cooker but a well stocked... More
