Our room overlooked back of hotel. Kitchen fans turned off after breakfast and off at night, room being very warm, as was the rest of the building, with window open all day for air had the smell of cooking all the time. Room was small and ensuite smelt. Arrived on Sunday for a 2 night stay only to find no... More

A group of us visited for Sunday lunch. The food was spot on, couldn't fault it. I chose a local beer, the Peak Ales Chatsworth Gold. I was charged an eye watering £4.05 a pint! I've paid far less in central London! 5* for the food but I will give just 3* in total as I don't appreciate being ripped... More

We have just come back from a lovely two day break in this historic pub/hotel and found it charming. The room was small but comfortable and the food was splendid - not only did we have breakfast each morning but had an evening meal there on both nights - the choice was excellent and the quality and price spot on.... My wife and I have just returned from a four night mid-week stay at the Ashford Arms and were really pleased with it. Having read some reviews here before booking we asked for a quiet room, and were given room 1 (double plus single bed, although we only needed a double). Really comfortable, spacious and clean, great shower, exposed beams,... More

We stayed here for a night before Xmas and really enjoyed the experience. Arriving at lunch time when the restaurant was really busy we were given keys to our lovely warm room and to the front door of the hotel. In the room was tea etc makings and two bottles of water. Our bed was comfortable and the room a... More

We chose the Ashford Arms as a stopover after a Christmas 'do' at Hassop Hall. The Inn is a lovely old building with lots of character set in a little Peak District village called Ashford-in-the-water. The room was clean, tidy and warm. The bed was very comfortable with clean and crisp linen. The en-suite was basic, but clean, with a... More
