We stayed here for a night before Xmas and really enjoyed the experience. Arriving at lunch time when the restaurant was really busy we were given keys to our lovely warm room and to the front door of the hotel. In the room was tea etc makings and two bottles of water. Our bed was comfortable and the room a... More

We chose the Ashford Arms as a stopover after a Christmas 'do' at Hassop Hall. The Inn is a lovely old building with lots of character set in a little Peak District village called Ashford-in-the-water. The room was clean, tidy and warm. The bed was very comfortable with clean and crisp linen. The en-suite was basic, but clean, with a... More

Went yesterday for Sunday Lunch as it was my daughters birthday and booked for 3.30pm - 7 in party altogether. On arrival we were not greeted and introduced to our table but had to inform 3 members of uninterested staff that we had arrived and in the end looked for the table ourselves. We then waited a very good while... More

Took my wife and sister-in-law for a mid-week lunch to the Ashford Arms having stayed there several years ago. Friendly staff, good meal, reasonable price. Enjoyed by all. We ate at the bar as all tables in the main dining area were either taken or booked.

We (two couples) stayed for a single night and we found the hotel very good value. This is an old building in a charming village that is a good base for visiting Chatsworth House and other local attractions. The bedrooms were comforable with tea, coffee, biscuits etc. I stayed in room 6 that had a smallish shower room, but was... More

I came to Ashford under Water on a family holiday in November, the Ashford Arms looked lovely from the outside so I arranged childcare & my husband & I came here for a early evening meal. I had previously checked out the menu which I thought looked good. As I starter I ordered pate - unfortunately it was absolutely tasteless,... More

I admit that we only booked this because we couldn't get in somewhere else but ....... I am so glad we did. Lovely old inn, the family room (my sister and I and my adult daughter) was just perfect for a girlie trip. The room was cosy, well presented, really couldn't ask for more. The staff (young as someone has... More
