We stayed here the last weekend in January and the owners couldn't have been more welcoming. We arrived later than plan and was given an upgrade as our room had been let out. We had a lovely suite with lounge, bathroom and bedroom all done to a spectacular standard. We even had breakfast bought to the room. Thanks for a... More

I attempted to book our stay online, however there was a problem on the website, so I called the Hall directly, it turned out the room I'd wished to stay in had been booked on one of the nights we'd chosen. When I spoke to Georgina on the phone she explained this and went out of her way to accommodate... More

Stayed here back in November for our anniversary weekend. We stayed in the Penthouse Suite and had the most pleasant of weekends. The giant bath is the room is so luxurious. Limited parking, but you are right in the centre of Bakewell, so once you are parked you can leave your car there and walk around for the weekend. The... More

Lovely stay in a beautiful place. If you want to relax and get away from it all this is the place for you. Though it's easy walking distance to the centre of Bakewell, the hall its self is tucked away at the top of a small hill with magnificent views .... I could have gazed out of our window for... More

Beautifully presented suite, ( with a tub for 2 which I loved) in a stunning location. Literally 2 minutes walk into the centre of Bakewell. Fabulous big bed, lovely clean bathroom and kitchenette. Just grand. Big TV and DVD player a bonus but we didn't use them. Ideal for an overnight treat which is what we were doing, but better... More

We arrived for our stay early in the day but were welcomed to check in straight away. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was beautiful. Very clean, spacious and a lovely bathroom too. The location was ideal as it was just a short walk into town. The staff were even helpful enough to give us a jump... More

This place is very overpriced and the service is terrible. We stayed over the New Year period and accept that prices will be higher at that time. Unfortunately the people running the hotel felt that because it was New Year they could avoid providing a basic service for their guests such as making the bed each day. In line with... More

Such a shame this guest was unable to fully appreciate the room with its panoramic views across the town, the valley below and the surrounding hills, and then the double ended bath in the bedroom, the separate bathroom and the kitchenette, etc etc True I had given my staff a well-earned break by allowing them to leave at noon on... It's not for me & husband...the place / accommodation is fine..but definitely room n board standard. Very noisy later am with late drinkers...I am sure it works for others...not us. I would not have it on my go to list....but did what it said on the tin

At exactly the same time as staying with us Colette has visited the Peacock in Bakewell for lunch and dinner, Colette has given them a bad review on the basis that a pub doesn't welcome drinkers!? The Peacock has a food offer which is second to none and can be claimed as a gastro-pub. An extensive menu, plus specials available... More

We recently stayed at Bagshaw Hall, Mirabeau Suite. I note from others that check in was an issue, but not for us this process was fine. We were shown to our room, which has great views and the rooms are clean and comfortable. We decided to have breakfast in the breakfast room, this was a rather strange affair, we weren't... More

Brilliant, to have such praise of our Mirabeau Suite, which is situated on the first floor of Bagshaw Hall with panoramic views of Bakewell through 3 tall windows, with an additional tall window in the bathroom with a large double ended bath in front of the window - this is 5 star luxury! This guest was also very comfortable with... More

I've read some of the former reviews and I guess this is down to individual preference; if you want a modern looking hotel with a buffet restaurant then Travelodge or Premier Inn is your best bet. Personally, I relished staying in a 400 year old listed building overlooking Bakewell. My room (Volare) was beautiful, my bathroom was the best I've... More
