We have just arrived home after a 5 night stay at Melbourne House and yet again we have had such a wonderful stay. Friends highly recommended the Bed & Breakfast to us years ago. Since then we have returned to Melbourn House time after time. Marie and John have created the most wonderful atmosphere within their lovely home and always... More

We booked two nights at Melbourne House through the Visitor Centre on arrival in Bakewell and we weren't disappointed. We had the twin room in Easthorpe the property just across the road from the main house. An enormous room with equally large bathroom. The room was tastefully decorated and comfortable and the bathroom was fitted to a very high standard.... More

Loved our weekend away here. Marie and John are lovely people and go out of their way to make sure youhave a pleasant stay with them. We had room 2 across the road in the Easthorpe house. Our first reaction was 'Wow' when we saw the room, with it's 2 double leather beds, matching armchair and sofa. Tea and coffee... More

Very welcoming hosts. Hearty breakfast (though there were 20 of us packed into a small room). Rooms and facilities were good (I could be very picky but then it would sound like a bad review). We had the 3 rooms in the refurbished house across the courtyard. Finished to a high spec (but we couldn't believe the amount of small... More

On a walking holiday in Derbyshire and Marie and John were our first hosts. A lovely welcome, kind hosts, the rooms are beautifully clean and a yummy breakfast! Such a joy to rest in such a sweet town!

Just returned home from a fantastic stay at Melbourne House where my partner and I were made fo feel extremely welcome by the hosts Marie & John. We had a beautifully decorated room with a very comfortable bed and the usual tea making facilities. The room also had plenty of storage space for your luggage, a flat screen wall mounted... More

booked this very last minute and so glad we did. Room was lovely as was the owner Marie. Great breakfast each morning and ample parking. Would recommend this for a short break, very close to shops, restaurants etc.

This B&B is beautiful on the out and inside. We had parking provided for us at the back along with a very friendly welcome. The central location was a plus. We just strolled into the centre of Bakewell half an hour after we arrived and found a lovely Indian Restaurant (Rajas)to eat in. The room was furnished to a very... More
