Found hotel readily enough. Close to road. Did not eat there - just a bed for the night between places. Large, nice enough room with adequate amenities. Thin walls so your stay will be as good as your neighbors allow. more

I really don't know where to start with this review, but basically we were just looking for a short break in the Peak District that wouldn't cost an arm and a leg. We found the Sandpiper on this website and it had some good reviews, we were travelling with my in-laws, both over 60s so were happy to find a... more

Excellent Service!!! The SANDPIPER HOTELcould not do enough to help us organise our perfect wedding reception after canceling our at VAN DYKS HOTEL 2 weeks before our wedding due to poor management. All the staff at The Sandpiper Hotel were helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. Our family and friends who stayed in the hotel... more

We stayed at the Sandpiper hotel for a single night, breaking our journey north. We arrived late so didn't eat in the restaurant (which closes at 9pm). The room was spacious but a bit cold. The staff were very helpful with quick check-in and out. Our room was large with a well-appointed en-suite bathroom. There was plentiful wardrobe and drawer... more

£49 executive room - room only basis, booked and paid online. Plenty of parking at the hotel. Check-in was friendly, efficient and welcoming. Room was a good size and perfectly clean (Room 41 on the 2nd floor). Common areas were also well presented. Tea & coffee making facilities in the room, TV, plenty of towels, spare pillows, spare blanket ,... more

Needed a cheap place to stay whilst visiting Sheffield with my son and this place fitted the bill perfectly- £45 internet rate.RO. Although we arrived at 9pm, they held the chef back so we could get a bar meal. Good food reasonably priced and the house wine was OK too. Room ( a twin) was large, clean and comfortable with... more

This was our first trip to the Peak District of Derbyshire and it was most satisfactory too. We stayed at The Sandpiper on the outskirts of Chesterfield which was close enough for convenience but without the usual noise you get in a town centre location. The room we had was warm, clean and cosy. The decor was modern with pastel... more

we went there as a couple for the New years eve weekend package. This was supposed to entail a 'party' on the 30th and a 'dinner dance' on New years eve. What we got was nothing like what we expected. Upon arrival we had to sidestep past a hourd of staff smoking outside the front doors. After waiting for reception... more

We were booked for only one night. The room was clean and comfortable and ready when we arrived. The service was generally good but, due to our stay coinciding with a wedding reception, the breakfast service in the morning was a bit overwhelmed and therefore slow. Overall, though, a good value for the money. more
