Clearly the hotel had been in a bad state of repair and Marco Pierre White has his work cut out to bring this up to standard. The driveway had recently been re-gravelled, and there was a new fence, so the initially impression was good. There is a lot of work going on the outside - currently windows are being painted.... The intitial impressions of the Rudloe Arms are good, with the old main building situated in leafy gardens. Our greeting was efficient, but there was no enquiry if we needed assistance with our luggage up the two flights of stairs to our room. The decor is unusual - typical country house paint finishes and furniture is mixed with fairground items... More

I stayed here for a friend's wedding 2 weeks ago and it has become a place I can't forget but for all the wrong reasons. Being a Marco PW establishment you would expect the food and service to be top notch, but sadly this was not the case. I spent a week after the event recovering from severe food poisoning... More

You drive up to the hotel, and it is stunning. Really stunning. But that's where it ends. My wife & I entered the room to immediately notice the vast array of things wrong with it. Lights didn't work, damp patch on ceiling, curtain broken so wouldn't fully shut, unpainted filler on broken bathroom door, nails on the floor (which my... More

What a disappointing experience! On arrival receptionist couldn't be bothered with us we felt as though we were an inconvenience to her as we wanted to check in. The room we stayed in was filthy dirty wall paper hanging from walls curtains hanging from rails damp on ceilings in bedroom and bathroom and boiling water from hot and cold taps... More

Will admit I was a little apprehensive about my forthcoming stay but have to say it was great. The hotel itself in in an excellent position very near to all major roads and only 8 miles from Bath. Like many I had read previous reviews so was a little worried about what to expect. We stayed in Room 6 with... More

Having previously stayed in another of MPW's establishments, which I was fairly critical of, I had fairly low expectations of my night at the Rudloe. Firstly, I have to acknowledge that I didn't eat on this visit, so I am only passing opinion on the general feel of the place and the accommodation. I read a number of reviews before... More

Our daughter held her wedding breakfast here in August and it was just perfect. There are long term plans for the accommodation we have been told so I do understand some of the comments although the room we had was lovely. The bridal suite is breath taking so if you are considering a wedding here I would do so just... More

Thank you - wow what an enjoyable stay- pity it was only for one night! was lovely taking to the head gardener, and walking through the gardens seeing what work they have already done. INSIDE - WOW I knew I was in Marco Perrier white house with the interiors looking stunning fun quirky and full of caricature. The food was... More

Stayed in Room 5 of the main building. Nice 4 poster bed but stained curtains, worn out carpets and room very dusty. When we arrived there was 4 dead flies on the windowsill - they were still there when we left 3 days later! Only redeeming feature were the young staff on reception and in restaurant. We have e-mailed the... More
