We received a wonderful welcome; candles, music and a warm and welcoming host greeted us. The decour was just gorgeous throughout. Our room was just lovely as was our bathroom. We booked the weekend at Clifton House for a break away from our 3 month old twins. We arrived Friday afternoon before the check in time and yet we were still welcomed in by John and shown round and John recommended some nearby places to eat. From our homes in France we researched and found Clifton House. On arrival we were welcomed to the house by the owners,John & Jan Bird and quickly realised we had found a real gem. A beautiful place, comfortable bedroom in attic, and very good breakfast. The bathroom is outside the room, with private use and the bathrobes are included. The hosts are very very agreeable. This house is a ideal point to discover Bath and surrounding area. more
Love the Clifton house. A Beautiful house, comfortable bedroom, and the best breakfast ever!!!! Our room was not ensuite and the bathroom was right outside the room but it wasn't a problem at all. We didn't have to share it with other guests, and bathrobes were provided. I would definitely go back again. One night just is not enough!!! more
We stayed for a romantic weekend in june and it was the best B&B EVER! They were very accommodating to my little requests of leaving various presents i had bought for my mrs on the bed when we had gone out in the evenings, they were also helpful recommending a florist and helped me order flowers and have them waiting... more

My husband and I were married at the Guildhall in Bath and held a romantic garden party for 45 guests in the walled garden at Clifton House. The experience was incredible thanks to the attention to detail of both John and Jan. Our guests were all made very welcome and the dancing on the lawn until midnight was no problem!... more

Clifton House is everything you dream of in a romantic week-end. Intimate, cosy and tastefully decorated; romantic four-poster bed; (we were upgraded on arrival!!!); superior breakfast; friendly, helpful hosts who went out of their way to make our stay perfect. Would love to go back again! more
