We visited this place for dinner after a recommendation. The decor was lovely and it was lively and had a good vibe so we had high hopes. Sadly after ordering it was clear the kitchen was in disarray. The meals took far too long to arrive and when we chased we were told 'they were on their way', twice. When... More

Visited the Barge Inn on our way to a weekend at Longleat. Sat in the beer garden and enjoyed a fantastic meal. All our food was perfect. Homemade burgers were huge and delicious. Steak pie contained half a cow!!!! Especially liked the fact children could pick anything on the menu rather than the standard kids menus. Canalside seating area is... More

This was the fourth time we’ve stayed at The Barge since our last review, nearly three years ago, and I’m pleased to be able to report that it’s still as good as it was then. We stayed for two nights this time, and the room was large and clean, with a big bed and coffee, tea & biscuits provided. The... More

Sad to say this is not a favourable review. At 1pm on a Bank Holiday this pub was half empty, and b on a was full of hungry people. We ordered food at the bar and I had already chosen a table outside. There are speakers all round the garden and what I would describe as club music was playing... More

I have just returned from a one night stay at the Barge Inn, unfortunately it was just the one night and on my own as this was a business trip for me. I hope to return though with my wife sometime soon, I was greeted by a very friendly young lady behind the bar on my arrival and shown to... More

I was with a large party of people who came to The Barge for lunch. We had pre booked but not pre ordered. I have to say that we were delighted with the quality of the food and the service. I have been back twice and will continue to eat up there. Thanks to all concerned for looking after us... More

Very nice, had the belly pork, red cabbage and mash with a honey mustard sauce. Delicious. Nice surroundings friendly, cheerful and helpful staff. The only slight point is that parking is a bit pot luck but it is a busy place and not really within their control to be fair. However, if you would like s decent meal and a... More

Good pub food, nice atmosphere, good service. Average prices. Particularly nice in the summer when you can sit in the garden or at the side of the river watching the barges and boats go by. Lovely on a warm summer evening.
