Nice venue, have been several times before and never been disappointed. However, on this visit I was half way through the steak pie when I pulled what can only be descibed as a piece of metal out of my mouth, luckily before swallowing. It looked like a cable tie minus the plastic casing so pretty nasty stuff. Notified the waitress... More

An excellent country pub, with a lovely garden and right next to the canal. Amazing delicious food, reasonably priced and very quick service :-) very friendly staff. Will definitely be back for another visit in the very near future. Tanya and Martin

We had heard some great things about the Barge from friends and decided to book a table for my mums birthday. We had a fantastic time. The food was delicious and lots of good choices for vegetarians. Nice to see a restaurant actually with consideration for veggies. The staff were delightful they couldn't have done more to ensure we were... More

The Barge in Bradford on Avon is a real gem. Fantastic food that's not over priced and a great selection of beers/ciders on tap. Always offered a warm welcome on arrival and the staff are always attentive. The beer garden was fantastic on such a Sunny day but I equally loved the bar area which was more than easy to... More

Having read some of these reviews I was dubious about visiting, however I was astounded when I came here! The bar staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming when we first arrived, we got our drinks swiftly and headed to the garden. Before we went to the garden we were told there was a fair wait on food, but going to... More

Staying at this inn is a wonderful experience. We just came back from a great time, our room was comfortable and spacious. It was over the bar so a certain amount of noise was to be expected but all was quiet by 23.15ish. Unless you are an 'early to bedder' this shouldn't cause a problem. The breakfast at The Barge... lovely place, wasn't welcomed with a particularly warm welcome ( not a single smile from the barmaid), breakfast was really nice & so was the room ( shame the shower didn't work properly ) Really nice watching the barges go by & feeding the ducks, the locals are lovely & friendly. All in all a nice place to stay, just... More

We were recommended this pub by a friend and were not disappointed. We were looking for somewhere for a short overnight break, and the Barge Inn is very comfortable , easy to find and reasonably priced. The weekend we chose was hot and sunny, and since the pub is situated on the side of the canal it was very busy.... More

It was very disappointing as I was recommended this place, but I left there hungry and annoyed. Lovely beer garden, beautiful location by the canal, so it's perfect if you could take your own food and drink. Staff clearly can't cope with too many people (although it was less than 50% full), so everything took too long: menu, drinks, food,... More

We booked this pub for dinner to end our weekend away on a barge. Sadly, we did not have a good experience. The food took over an hour to come and with 4 children in tow that was not acceptable. When were told off by the waitress for making a complaint about the food being late. " Everyone has had... More
