A one-night stop and difficult to make a full judgement as the builders are in and major renovations are underway. Comfortable, clean, well-appointed room in an annexe across the car park from the main building. Pleasant bar but unable to make any comment on the restaurant because of the major works. All in all, nice enough but probably a bit... More

We stayed at the Angel Inn after a trip to Longleat. Location was great, just 10 minutes or so in the car. From the outside needs a little work, paint peeling etc. Parking was easy. Inside the pub itself, small and cosy, good selection of ales, and were made to feel welcome. Our rooms were ok, not great. The floorboards... More

Spent two nights in this hotel. Clean & tidy. Great staff. Once the renovations are finished it will be a great looking hotel & hopefully the great staff will be there too. The creaky floorboards were a nightmare as soon as the person above moved you could hear.If they spoke you could hear too..... Thank god thats all we heard.... More

I booked a family room. My son was ill so couldn't travel. He stayed at home with my wife. I called ahead to let them know. They advised it was within 48 hours so I couldn't switch to a standard room. Fair enough I thought. Yet when I got there I had in fact been switched into a normal room... More

We booked a family room at the hotel, hoping for a relaxing night after spending the day at Longleat Safari park. The room was clean and tidy, however there were a few things that made our stay less comfortable. The sofa bed wasn't made up ready for our 7 yr old and we had to ask to get it done.... More

An old favourite of ours. After an absence of a couple of years, we visited three times this summer in July/August with family for Sunday lunch. I thought their roast beef was excellent. On the whole our table was very happy with the dishes served. All very well presented and delicious. A few minor hiccups, but nothing really to detract... More

We were in the area and stopped odd here for a Sunday lunch. Bank holiday weekend, however the pub was not busy. Plenty of empty tables and we could only see three tables eating. We were approached by the 'manager' and asked for a table for two for lunch. He jittered around and then told us that he has another... More

We stayed for just one night and had 3 rooms as we were visiting long least for the weekend. We were greater my the manager in the car park who swiftly showed us to our rooms. Our family room was very clean and comfortable, plenty of room. We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel and the food was fantastic.... More

The Angel Inn seems to have lost its way, it doesn't know if it's a pub, quality restaurant or art gallery and it doesn't really succeed in any of these. When we visited the patron (manager?) seemed to have adopted a bit of a Basil Fawlty demeanour and wanted to be in control of everything, taking food orders, serving at... More

As the title says this place is a little diamond in the countryside. My fiance and I stayed here for 2 nights so that we could visit friends close by and visit longleat. This is what we thought. Location- The hotel is located in a pretty little village with winding roads, but just 2 minutes in a car and you... More
