I stayed at this hotel for a midweek break. The booking process was smooth and I was asked all the right questions. After driving for 3 hours it was nice to arrive and be greeted by Anita on reception, she was courteous and more than helpful. We arrived a little early as we did not know how long it would... More

We stayed for one day with our 15 year old. The room was large but somewhat dated decor (room 1). The bed was large but way too soft, initially I thought I might be sinking into a luxurious mattress but sadly it was very uncomfortable to sleep on (or rather in!). The room was VERY nosiy. The chandelier rattled and... More

We stayed here in January for a special occasion. I could not fault the beautiful hotel, the lovely room or the grounds, but the staff were rather unpleasant to say the least. We had afternoon tea on our first afternoon tea and the first waitress that was there to greet us was very surly and abrupt. We enjoyed use of... More

Stayed in the Wimborne (club room). The room was lovely - can't fault it at all. Massive comfy bed, huge wardrobe with lots of hangers, big bathroom with double shower, roll top bath and his and hers sinks, complimentary mineral water along with the usual coffee and tea tray. Dressing gowns and slippers provided in rooms for use in the... More

My girlfriend booked a club room for one night through Secret Escapes. Upon arrival we were told we were being upgraded to the Oval Room (I don't think it was anything to do with my Birthday!). The porter helped us with our bags to the room and we were both astounded when he opened the door. The room was by... More

Hard to believe that the management or owners of this attractive old building, feel that cheap, broken plastic flower tubs at the front entrance, provide a welcoming and reassuring impression to guests. It did make us wonder how the rest of the place was cared for.

My wife and I made a booking at very short notice for two nights over the recent Valentine's weekend. The room was impressive, if sadly a little cold. On balance though the positive traits of the old fashioned building outweighed the slight chilliness on our first night. The spa facilities were good and the food was of good quality. The... More

We have just returned from a three night stay at this hotel. Firstly we booked on secret escapes a standard room and arrived to the most beautiful oval room with double roll top baths in. It was my birthday so I felt really special. The room was as luxurious as you can get. Enormous bed, soft sheets and everything to... More

We had an overnight stay in this charming hotel. The room seemed to be in the attic? Low awkward ceilings and very small for a double room but still had all the adequate items one needs. The pool was lovely both indoor and out and my Husband loved all the different rain showers. Would be a good idea to supply... More
