Visited and had an excellent meal and the beer was well kept. Slightly expensive but bearing in mind the location etc justified.
Well worth visiting again.

My wife and I stayed for two nights in January. The first night, hospitality and service were great. The second night...not so much. The server on day 1 was friendly and helpful. The server on day 2 was unhelpful and appeared to be looking to log her time. Although we made several hints that we would like to have a...

My friends and i stayed at the Spread Eagle for 2 nights in January - three of us in the party had a birthday over the weekend that we stayed. There are only 5 rooms in the pub, and it was very quiet when we arrived on the Friday night - we felt like we where being a bit raucous...

Have been a regular visitor over the years but the food yesterday was dire. "Goat's cheese tartlet with onion confit" - a mass-produced pastry case filled with a huge quantity of cheap onion marmalade and a slab of unmelted cheese on top balanced on a large salad (more onion) with vinegary dressing. No attempt at making a proper filling for...

Had lunch which was tasteless and unimaginitive. Service is average ( cleaning of tables with spray cleaners whilst customers still around). They rely too much on the beauty of Stourhead to carry the poor attempt at providing good country food

Historic Inn provided an interesting and restful place for our visit to Stonehenge. While not in the immediate vicinity, it was close enough and gave us more of a look at the countryside. Grounds were beautiful with flowers and ponds galore. Pub was a welcoming place and the food was good.

We visited the Spread Eagle today, having had 2 previous visits which were both very happy events.Today, we`d been for a walk and it was wet!
We just wanted a warm and relaxing place with good pub food and this is exactly what we got!
From the moment we entered the place we felt at home, found a nice table in view...

We stayed at the Spread Eagle Inn, May 2011, for our wedding anniversary. The inn was beautiful, the food was delicous and the setting was wonderful. The inn allows free access to the beautiful Stourhead grounds and we had a midnight romatic picnic with champayne, the inn even can lend guest torches for night walks. The staff were really warm...

We stayed at the Spread Eagle Inn Stourhead for two nights 6/7th November 2011, taking advantage of the winter special... 2 nights B&B for £125- per double room on selected nights.
Another big advantage of course, is free entry for residents to the beautiful Stourhead National Trust Gardens 24 hours a day (the inn has torches available if you want...

Had a three night stay to experience Stourhead in Autumn. The staff were friendly and attentive. Stourhead sublime. The Hotel itself was a disappointment. (somewhere on it's leaflets it described itself as having 4 stars but nowhere else was there such a claim) The menu was unimaginative and limited...the same soup at least 3 days running ( I am sure...
