We booked this hotel on line and it was easy to find if you find Warminster, it is on the main through road, went inside and asked the barmaid instructions to the car park, which were easy enough to follow. the room itself was quite spacious but the window was screwed shut because the sash had gone, but they did... The Anchor is a bit rough round the edges, but a pleasant place to disappear whilst your better half is shopping! Customers & bar staff very friendly. As we were just visiting for a football match, we did not eat or stay here. However the surroundings indicated that this would be a reasonable place to stay.

The GOOD... Pleasant staff. Super Breakfast. Clean and spacious bathroom. Convenient private car-parking. Comfortable double bed (room 3) The BAD... Wonky tv reception. Nothing done to reduce the traffic noise outside, nor the excessively loud pub clientele-eg. no thick curtains, no internal glazing etc. and The UGLY... some of the karaoke singers voices!!

This hotel is very easy to get to as it is at the end of the road leading to the railway station. The staff are friendly and the rooms are a good size. It is above a busy pub so good if you are out late at a wedding but not so good if you are after an early night!... More

There are a lot of problems with this "hotel". It is attached to the back of a very noisy pub that has live music, karioke etc most nights up until 12am. Therefore if you're looking for a quiet night in your room or want to get to sleep before midnight then maybe this place is not for you. Also, the... More

Plus point: friendly staff at breakfast. Good breakfast but not til 8.30. Bad points. Incredibly noisy. Extremely loud music played til midnight on sunday. Monday was pool night and extremely loud music was again played till midnight. Didn't want to go out in evening as letching male customers sitting by B &B door. They were shouting and swearing til after... More

Live music played at unbearable noise levels!!! Noise continued in room above B & B accommodation until 4a.m. The room itself was very basic and the pane of glass in the rotting window frame appeared likely to fall out at any time and did not stop the loud music/shouting entering from the street below. Plus directly opposite taxi rank which... More

Stayed at the Anchor for three nights at easter . Our room was nice and cosy at the back of the building . A lot of noise at night till late as the hotel has live music on most nights but we knew this on booking. Breakfast were very nice and plentiful. One thing I was not happy about was... More

A nice enough place to stay for one night. The pub downstairs is a little intimidating to turn up to when in full swing, but the staff were very friendly and helpful. My room was fairly large, but full of furniture- I was travelling alone, but had a double bed and a queen bed in the same room. There were... More
