I cannot recommend this Inn highly enough! I recently stayed there with my family (two parents, two adult children, and a dog) and we had an absolutely lovely stay. We booked our rooms on the day of and found room booking easy and convenient. They were also very welcoming of our small dog which was great; we saw other guests... More

we have dined here for a number of years with varying ownership offering varying qualities. it appears the hotel is now owned by a south African couple and all I can say is VERY GOOD. we went through to the larger restaurant area and we were treated extremely well. My wife ordered a Prusecco and because there not enough bubbles... More

My father in Law lives near here. We have been a few times now when we visit (from London). It is one of our favourite pubs to eat at. We have two young sons, and the landlady and staff are so kind and attentive to my children and also to my elderly father in law. We had a delicious meal... More

My family and I were enjoying a lovely Sunday lunch. Everything had been so perfect, from the food to the waitress' attentiveness. Unfortunately this lovely afternoon was ruined due to an argument occurring between mangement and staff. I don't expect this from a well respected pub. Quite frankly I was appalled someone would speak to another person in this manor.... More

Stopped off on our way to Long Leat on Sunday after a recommendation from a friend and we arrived at 1pm to find the place surprisingly charming with the river running through the lovely garden. On entering the bar area you are left waiting for a while as the restaurant is a walk away and seemed to be the focus of... And an excellent restaurant and hotel, too. The riverside location is extremely appealing, and there are pleasant walks to be had in the area. Our evening meal, looking out of the river, was first rate: confit of duck, and a steak. Friendly service. Room comfortable, though not exactly quiet on night one: another couple seemed to be enacting their favourite... More

I happened across this place by chance, but it's absolutely delightful. A proper country, riverside inn with amazing food and comfortable rooms. If you get the opportunity, I'd definitely recommend staying here.

You could not fault the location of this Pub. We ate our lunch by the river with swans floating by. Idilic! The food was good - i tried the wild garlic soup - very pleasant and not in the least intrusive. My friends had very generous salads and I had a chicken curry. No grumbles - now the Butcombe beer... This is a nice country pub in a lovely setting. I had a roast which was really good but unfortunately the beef was very gristly and I had to leave most of it. I spoke to one of the owners who couldn't have been kinder and offered a refund on some of the meal. Great customer service. This is the... More

We eat out quite a lot in the local area and I have to say that our recent experience here was absolutely terrible! It was a Saturday night and the restaurant was pretty empty, this should have rang alarm bells. For starters I had the crispy squid which was horrible chewy frozen squid with a sweet chilli dip and presented... More
