Just had a long weekend at Portstewart and a few minutes walk away was The York. Had a great cooked breakfast on Sunday morning overlooking the crashing waves across the road below. There were very few diners so were seen to very quickly. Our order of a full cooked breakfast (one of everything) plus tea came quickly too. It was... More

My wife and I stayed at the The York Hotel last week on our way through Northern Ireland and we were highly impressed with this hotel. Portstewart is a small coastal town and the hotel sits directly a crossed from the ocean. We loved our room.... very nice bed, bathroom and fixture but our favorite part was the experience. We... Worst dinner and breakfast I've had in a long time. Dirty Sticky tables and waiting staff who don't ask 'is everything ok for you' half way through the meal because they know! Even the chips were uneatable, I could taste old frying oil off them. I'm not fussy when it comes to food but this place is bad! I dread... More

My husband and I have just returned home from a two night break at this hotel. Peaceful location and wonderful views of the sea. The weather was dreadful so we spent a lot of time in the hotel relaxing. We were made extremely welcome by the owner, the manager, restaurant staff, reception staff and cleaners alike. They even lit the... More

After a very stressful two weeks of work and personal problems my wife decided we needed a weekend away to chill out and boy did she pick the best place. This hotel is beautiful, staff excellent, food brilliant (and very well priced) rooms lovely and a cosy bar with good music on the Saturday night and what can one say... More

We called in without booking on a wet late afternoon following two failed attempts at other restaurants who only served meals at set times! Staff were welcoming, professional, attentive and really seemed concerned that we had a lovely time. Lovely views out over the sea. Highly recommended.

Decided to dine at the York on a Saturday night and it proved to be an excellent choice. Although we had not booked and virtually all the tables were reserved, we were allocated a very comfortable booth almost immediately. The service was first class and when the food arrived it was cooked to perfection. We had the signature York burger,... More

We have eaten at this restaurant twice in the last couple of weeks and cannot recommend more highly. The food is very good, beautifully presented and at a very good price. There are lovely views out over the sea, and we found all the staff to be very helpful and friendly. We will be visiting regularly.
