I commute to work in Northern Ireland and have been staying 4 nights a week for the last year. I will be staying for the foreseeable future. Maureen is the perfect host and nothing is too much trouble. The house is in the middle of the countryside, and very quiet, yet only a 10 minute taxi ride to Portadown. more

A little gem

There are actually two little gems here. One is the Grey Gables guesthouse itself and the other is Moreen the perfect and very amusing hostess. We were warmly welcomed and shown around the extremely good quality accomodation which has to be seen to be believed. The large house is decorated tastefully by Moreen and has three breakfast areas, four sitting... more

My father and I have recently returned from staying with Moreen in Grey Gables the second of her two B&Bs. The location is an ideal place to base yourself for sightseeing. The B&B is about 10 mins from Portadown and is situated in a rural area surrounded by green fields and apple orchards. Peaceful and quiet, for us it was... more

I visit NI 2 or 3 times a year, and would stay no where else. The breakfast and the rooms along with Maureens smiling face are always welcome after a days work. I have stayed in 5 star to small b&b worldwide and Red Brick is up there. more

A one word review of our stay with Moreen at the Redbrick Country House/Grey Gables would have to be"EXCELLENT". We have been staying with Moreen on a regular basis since 2003, first at Redbrick Country House and lately at Grey Gables. The accomodation is first rate, clean, comfortable with good food and a relaxed atmosphere. We have to say every... more

We stayed have just got back from our first stay in Ireland and what a wonderful place to stay. Red Brick Country House is 'home from home' and Maureen works hard to ensure your stay in her home is first class. Choice of breakfast times, so no rush in the morning unless you want to. I am a wheelchair user,... more

I stayed at the Redbrick/Greygables guest house recently with my 8 year old daughter. What a great place to stay! Our room was large with a double and a single bed and a great view over surrounding countryside. It was quiet and peaceful and in the morning you were lucky if a tractor went passed! Having said that, it was... more
