Having arrived late & tired from a long day travelling we were made welcome by Bridget at the reception. Later that evening & after the dining room was closed she willingly offered Sandwiches & chips for supper. This was most welcome & the service was above & beyond the call of duty. The rest of the hotel was fine. more
After reading other reviews, I expected the worst. Yes the decor is terrible, and yes the hotel looks like something timewarped in from the 1960's, but it has it's good points. Lounge is dingy and smelly, and corridoors are dark and musty. Rooms are small, badly furnished, but at least they are clean. There is a trouser press, and tea/coffee... more
Stayed just for one night, but that was enough. The staff were very friendly, but they seemed to be doing several jobs. The hotel was reasonably clean, but the decor was out of the 70's and desperately needed updating. Food was OK but nothing special. more
