I can`t say how pleasant the stay in this lovely B&B was. I made reservation late in the night way pass the check-in hours . Arrived around midnight but before that contacted the owner who was more than helpful and left the doors open and the room keys at the reception for me as he was aware of my late... More

Me and two friends stayed here as we where going to a night club near by!! Our room was very clean, tidy and we had a great view of the sea!! The owners were very welcoming and was very helpful with getting us sorted with taxi's!! Avarest is very central which is great!! We had a full breakfast which was... More

We (my wife and myself) are just back from a short break in Portrush and we stayed in the Avarest, and I must admit that the whole place was terrific. The guy who greeted us when we first arrived was very pleasant and helpful, the room was excellent and the view was outstanding. The breakfast was terrific ( my only... More

My son and I were disappointed by the quality of this B&B despite its great location - the entrance was dark, the door to our room looked as if the lock had been forced more than once and the room itself was in need of a fresh coat of paint, new bed linen and the ensuite needed an airvent -... It is a pity you didn't enjoy your stay. I can't help thinking reading your other reviews you should indeed been staying in a purpose built multi-national hotel, and not a characteristic Victorian home. Most people appreciate the wood paneling in entrance hall, it signifies the character and age of the building. As for breakfast for hygiene reasons the cereals... More

I only stayed for one night during quiet season. Owners were away but the place was adequately looked after by a friendly young lady who I believe was the owner's daughter. She served a great breakfast in an expeditious manner. The place was clean but a bit tired but that is to be expected with a building of this age.... More

My husband and I stayed at this B&B last week and were very disappointed in that breakfast was supposed to be served from 8:30 am to 10:00 am. We waited in the study until 9:40 am an no one ever came to cook breakfast let alone open the dining room. The temperature outside was close to 80 degrees and they... More

Firstly we really must apologise for your experience. The B&B was not due to be open due to our wedding anniversary, but due to an error the booking system was not booked out and your booking came in. Rather than relocate you our daughter decided she would look after things. We are very sorry that she slept in on that... More

Good location near the Portrush harbor, but that is about the extent of our positivie remarks. Avarest House has very dark, old, creaky halls, stairs and rooms with torn, raveled carpeting. Owners have made no effort to update the place or to make you feel welcome, they hide behind a door in a small closet. They have kept up with... More

Must say not surprised by your review in the slightest. We try to accommodate everyone, but it is not possible in reality to please everyone. We know you had a problem about not getting a sea view like your friends and if it had been possible to do so we would have, in hindsight we should have gave you all... More
