We stayed at Abbeydene for 2 nights as we were visiting Belfast (about a 10 minute drive). You can leave your car and catch the train in if you don't know the city (that's what we did - about 20 mins and you're right in the city). It's an amazing old Victorian mansion which has been refurbished in keeping with... More

Abbeydene is a gorgeous and interesting house, the hosts Tim and Ethy are absolutely lovely, breakfast was delicious. I highly recommend it. Only 15 minutes into Belfast. Good starting point for driving the Causeway Coastal Route. Hope to have the opportunity to stay there again for longer next time.

I stayed here while attending a 3-day course at the University of Ulster. It was a really handy location, only a short drive from the University. Tim and Ethy were wonderful hosts and I enjoyed the personal quirky touches that they had added to the place. Cannot recommend it enough.

I stayed with my wife Mary and thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality offered by Tim & Ethy over the New Year period. Their caring and thoughtfulness throughout our stay was unbelievable. Their 'Abbeydene' home is fantastic and certainly quirky in a great way. Tim and Ethy's relaxed and flexible manner made our stay exactly what we wanted during our time in... More

This was a very special B&B. The owner loves music and the house is full of stuff concerning music, film and art. They also are very nice and friendly. The breakfast was excellent, we could choose between ulster fry, scrumbled eggs or cereals, porridge. The room was well heated and clean. The bathroom was big and clean too. The house... More

Stayed at Ethy and Tim's beautiful home for three nights. What a delight! The house is stunning and by far the most comfortable accommodation I have stayed in. If you forget to pack anything, don't worry, Ethy and Tim have everything you could need. They have gone beyond what you would expect to find in a B&B and perhaps more... More

We recently stayed in this B & B run by Tim and Ethy. The Victorian mansion was built in 1850 and in 1945 General Dwight Eisenhower came to visit...we stayed in the Eisenhower ensuited room. This B & B has a wonderful history with a theme of music and film with memorabilia of many a kind to be found throughout... More

My husband and son stayed at Abbeydene on our first night in Ireland. We had a long day with a drive from Dublin to the Antrim coast, and to Abbeydene. Tim and Ethy made us feel like long lost friends and opened their hearts and home to weary travelers. We had an amazing nights rest and a much needed shower.... More
