very old hotel in the middle of town. Small room, big comfortable bed. No chairs. Cantilever mirror in bathroom missing. Both plug chains broken. Dirt on windows inside and out. Floodlight outside window at night very bright not avoided by closing the curtains. Breakfast poor - no orange juice or fruit segments. Unnecessary loud pop music during breakfast and in... More

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to comment on your stay. I will go through your points and explain or answer what I can for you. We are graded a 2 star inn - with this grading you are expected to provide a number of basics in the bedrooms. Given that our rooms are small we do not... More

What more can I say? Welcoming, friendly. The staff are wonderful. You can see they work hard to make you visit enjoyable. My room is clean & comfortable which is all you need from a room. The bar is quaint and the food is quality and plentiful. Not a bad point of Guinness either 😊 Really can't find anything to... More

My mum, partner and I stayed here for two nights. All I can say is excellent. From we entered the hotel until we left the service was excellent. All staff where welcoming and friendly. The room was lovely, clean and comfortable. We had dinner in the bar on our first night. Again the service was excellent, the staff couldn't have... More

Dobbins Inn is a quaint little hotel in a seaside suburb of Belfast (Carrickfergus) with a lot of history to share. The rooms are small, but cosy, the staff friendly and helpful, if perhaps a little reserved and the breakfasts are top notch. There's a regular train-service into Belfast nearby, a beaut water-front, including a medieval castle, to explore and... More

My wife and I have been going here for 25 years maybe not just as regular now as in the past , we were there on Saturday night and it prompted me to write this as sometimes we take for granted the good things nearby , Well the food here is second to none never had reason to complain the... More

Just across the road from Carrickfergus Castle. Very historic Inn with lots of history. Inglenook fireplace, underground passage to Castle, and resident ghost! Maud Great atmosphere, lots of locals and visitors, pub food served from a decent breakfast, to pub lunches and dinners. Gets a great reputation for reasonable Sunday lunch.

Loved staying here. Staff were friendly and professional. Bedroom was clean and comfortable. The location is superb - right across from the Castle so even if the weather lets you down you can go across and step back in time. Special mention for the lady who does breakfast - she was just great! Would certainly stay here again.

This hotel is a step back in time. The building was contemporary with Carrickfergus Castle, and even has a (concealed) tunnel to the Castle. It also has a visible priest hole in the lobby. The food in the bar / restaurant was recommended by staff in the Tourist Information office, and proved to be very good for both dinner and... More

I absolutely love staying at this hotel. The staff are warm, welcoming and really make you feel at home, the hotel has a lot history and character, not to mention clean and tidy. It is well placed in the centre of Carrickfergus and is a great place to take a family, with a castle and a big playground literally across... More

We stayed three nights in early May so we were close to Belfast and Ballymena to explore family connections. It was easy to find and in a great location. Room was one flight up so fairly easy to bring up our bags. Bed was comfortable and room was a good size. Breakfast each day was good and food in bar... More
