We did not anticipate such a welcoming. Tom and Alisa went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant and relaxing. We were there one year ago this month and when we get together we comment on how this was the best stay of all our trip through Ireland, England and Holland.

Recently stayed at Avondale for 4 nights, we are 3 women who go away for a 'girlie break' every year, so the configuration of 3 single beds in the one room was ideal. Very clean, lovely views, comfortable beds, great breakfasts (complete with Tom playing his fiddle for us while we ate), wonderful hospitality and would certainly recommend a stay... More

We stayed at Avondale for 3 nights and had a very comfortable stay. The owners were very hospitable and helpful and the huge breakfasts, including delicious homemade cheese scones, set us up for the day. Our room was very generously sized with a large bathroom and the usual amenities expected from a decent B & B. Everything was very clean... More

I stayed in Avondale B&B for one night. The hosts were friendly and provided me great hospitality. I lost my mobile in Cookstown and Ailsa even helped to send back to me. I will never forget this kind favour and I am sure you will enjoy this place as much as I do.Great music plus beautiful hand-crafting!

This review relates to may 2013 but you can't go that far back. We were in Ireland for a relatives wedding. When we arrived there was confusion about our room being cancelled which one of two were cancelled by another family member. In checking out we were charged £20 for the room that had been cancelled on top of our... More

Thank you for your review of our property. Upon booking your associate paid £40 deposit and then cancelled due to a place becoming available at the hotel. The £20 you were charged at breakfast was the balance owing between the deposit and amount owed for B&B, which was explained. I am disappointed that you feel you were 'argued' with, and... More

My wife and I stayed at Avondale recently along with our baby son and we could not possibly have anticipated the amazing level of hospitality shown to us by Tom & Ailsa, who made is feel very welcome from the minute we arrived until we (reluctantly) left. Tom & Ailsa went out of their way to accommodate the needs of... More

To be able to sit around the fire and listen to Tom on the fiddle playing Irish tunes is something most B and B's can't offer. This was a memorable stay in Cookstown where our search for out 1696 roots were aided by the local folks. Great food and new friends...

I'm writing this review on behalf of my Mother who stayed at Avondale B&B recently - these are her own words:] I would recommend Avondale B&B to anyone looking for good food and a friendly atmosphere, in a quiet, evocative and historic setting. Thank you Ailsa and Tom for making my stay with you so memorable. Eileen

Stayed 3 nights while visiting relatives. Central to Cookstown and Dungannon area. Surrounding property beautiful. Country side road, quiet. Hosts were accommodating and rooms were clean. Breakfast was adequate (wish there was traditional Irish bread).

This was a really friendly place to stay in a stunningly beautiful countryside area but also really close to the town. The owners of the B&B were both friendly and welcoming. The place is a little cluttered but for me it gave me a really homely feel. It was like staying in your Nanny's house.
