We are local to Carmarthen & fancied a meal out somewhere a bit 'different' - yes, the decor is slightly dated, but it added to the places quaint charm. From the areas we saw, The Old Priory is spotless! The food was very good value for money & yummy!! My fiance had the mixed grill, while I had the sirloin... More

Friendly staff, bit dated decor but homely. Food was average, but plenty to eat and you won't go away hungry. Very good prices for drinks at the bar. This is a bar meal menu and the steaks were tough and over cooked.

I would like to apologise for you not enjoying your steak as I make every effort to buy quality and cook it as ordered by the customer, as far as I am aware there was no complaint made at the time. I don't know what the gentleman's idea of a bar menu is but the menu he chose from consists... More

I stayed in the old priory guesthouse for 8 weeks, and can honestly say it became like home. The rooms were clean and well kept, bathrooms was lovely, and phil and his family were just amazing! I would definitely stay here again, you have a warm welcome every morning and phil will try his hardest to do anything he can... More

We stayed at the Old Priory during half-term (October 2013) as son attending music course in Camarthen. Couldn't have found a better place to stay. The rooms are not huge, but very cosy and comfortable. A relaxed and welcoming atmosphere and the owner very helpful and accomodating: provided packed lunches for son, recommended taxi service, looked after bags on checkout... More

Hats off to Phil and co, they did a great job of hosting our stag party. I can't fault it. Sure the decor is a bit dated, but it's all super clean, and group friendly. Good showers, pool table, and honest simple food. The mixed grill is highly recommended! Super cooked breakfast, Phil was up before 7am to serve us... More

I stayed here 3 years ago, and little, if anything, has changed, which I find comforting in a town, my home town, that has seen so many recent changes. The hotel is small, cosy and comfortable, and family-run. The owner recognised me from my previous visit, and was very helpful in recommending pubs and restaurants where I might find friends... More

We stayed at Old Priory Guest House in July 2013 as part of a stag weekend. The decor is dated, but everything was very clean, and we felt very welcome. The breakfast was lovely. It's a 5/10 minute walk to the town centre, and the nightlife was pretty good for a small town.

Staying in the old priory guest house felt like sleeping in an ashtray. The room and hall stank of stale cigarette smoke. When I pointed this out to the unfriendly guy on reception he did offer another room, but when I tried it, it stank even more of cigarette smoke than the previous room. The reception guy didn't seem too... More

I am sorry the gentleman did not find his stay satisfactory. At no stage did the gentleman ask me to return the money that was paid for the accommodation which I would of happily refunded for him to find more suitable accommodation for himself. When he complained about the smell of smoke I asked another resident who was a non... More

Recently spent two weeks here, and I can honestly say I felt most welcome. The owners are fantastic, and were very accommodating. The rooms are to a good standard, with everything you would need including unlimited tea and coffee (situated in the corridor). The toilet and bathrooms weren't in my room, but it was no hassle as there there was... More

As it says "Old Priory" - old fashioned yes, but it was clean, has charm; easily accessible and good value. Has a restaurant and the owner cooks ! Unfortunately I could not stay for dinner, but if the breakfast is anything to go by ( real orange juice and cornflakes and a good breakfast ), then I'm really looking forward... More
