Oh dear, 6 of us went for a celebration meal in the Brasserie (as restaurant fully booked). Although the food was very good (compliments to the chef, doubt he/she knows how bad the front of house staff are), the whole experience was spoiled by slow service, thirst from lack of drinks and plates not being cleared. When I asked to... more

Six of us had lunch at the Angel arriving just after 12 noon. It took us the best part of 3 hours to have 2 courses with no coffee. The service was absolutely dreadful although the food when it did arrive was very good. Our main course arrived and when we had almost finished eating it, the new potatoes arrived... more

Visited for a Saturday night with two other couples, booking out the 3 suites (Doe Cottage, Bordley and Rhylstone). Lovely high quality spacious rooms, well furnished with some nice touches and nice contemporary bathrooms. Free chocolates and canapes were welcome, and there was a nice garden area to share. Good welcome with an excellent lunch in the bar, and Taylor's... more

We had visited this hotel on a previuos occasion for morning coffee and were keen to return. We stayed in Doe Cottage, one of only five rooms at this inn.The rooms are situated over the road from the Inn itself but the hotel provides umbrellas to shield you from any inclement conditions! Our room was situated on the ground floor with a... more

My husband and I came here for a weekend 2 weeks before our wedding day, with a view to taking some time out from the wedding plans. It was perfect. We stayed in the Rylstone suite. The decor and faciliies were very impressive, extremely tasteful, expensive looking, but also very homely. We had the most romantic weekend, we spent a... more

I would definitiely stay here again but would probably eat in the bar rather than the restaurant (due to a disappointing main course). The rooms were my idea of perfection; private, luxurious and stylish with excellent attention to detail. The delivery of canapes to the room an hour after check in was a lovely gesture. The overall expereince was one... more

My boyfriend booked us in one of the suites in the converted barns as a surprise for my birthday and unknown to me at the time to ask me to marry him. Now obviously I am a little biased about the place because of this but the whole experience was wonderful. The setting is beautiful and our suite was stunning... more
