Thought this place was wonderful. We booked in here on as we heard it was haunted so fancied staying the night in haunted inn on our travels. Alas we didn't see any ghosts but that was more than made up for the amazingly warm and friendly service from the owners and the great food (all local produce, i recomend the... more

We spent 6 nights at the Plough Inn on our first trip to the Dales. Steve and Sue made us feel extremely welcome and nothing was too much trouble for them. It was quiet due to the time of the year but we were encouraged to join the local Folk night and the Quiz night in the pub, where the... more

We have just returned for a 3 day New Year Break at The Plough Inn. There were three couples and we all agreed that this was the best new Year's Eve we had ever spent. We arrived on Sunday 30th and we welcomed and taken to our rooms by very attentive staff. Dinner in the restaurant that night was excellent... more

The place is certainly due an overhaul (or perhaps just a good clean), as when we checked in it was dark - and not much better when the daylight came and the dust and grime was plain to see. The menu is basic but the service from the waitresses was attentive and helpful. Ok for a stop over, but certainly... more

For the past 11 years my wife and myself have spent Christmas away from home, 7 of those years at one establishment. We thought for Christms 2005 we would have a change and searched the internet for something suitable. I found the web page for The Plough at Wiiglesworth. Christmas breaks were advertised and details were sent for. These arrived... more

I am writing this following a recent stay at the Plough Inn at Wigglesworth. My girlfriend and I made the mistake of booking there at short notice over the recent August Bank Holiday weekend. After struggling to get in anywhere else, we finally got in at the Plough (which should have started the alarm bells ringing then). During booking, I... more

I would like to respond to the above review which has just been brought to our attention by one of our guests. We are extremely sorry that the reviewer didn't enjoy his stay at our Inn. It is very rarely that we have any negative comments and we have many guests who come back time & time again. Our rates...

If you are travelling from the South to Scotland, you could do far far worse than get off the beaten track and stay at The Plough Inn. This little village, more like a hamlet consists of a few houses, a post office which is also the village shop and garage. This inn was a gem of a discovery for us... more
