I stayed at Claridge House as part of a weekend retreat. It was peaceful, calming, comfortable and homely and the food was excellent. The bedrooms were spacious and bright. The gardens were pretty. I was slightly sad to leave after the wekend and return to the hustle and bustle but I left feeling rested.

I have been coming to Claridge House for over 20 years. Although it has changed little in that time it provides consistently good hospitality and quiet sanctuary from the busyness of the outside world. As other reviewers have indicated the vegetarian foods is superb. The cooks are always experimenting and shatter any illusions that vegetarian food is boring. It is... More

Claridge House offers simple rooms which are clean and airy with a sink. They provide towels including your own bath mat. The shared bathrooms are clean and there was plenty of hot water. They provide a kettle and as much tea and coffee as you want with no extra charge. Filter water is readily available. The food is vegetarian and... More

I have stayed at Claridge House several times. Often by myself when attending a meditation workshop or similar. This is a very special place, with a very tranquil atmosphere and I have always felt revived after a stay there and sleep very, very well. The food is vegetarian but always very wholesome, tasty and generously proportioned.

Claridge House is a Quaker guest house open to all and offering a chance to get away from the stresses of modern life. The garden is gorgeous - my favourite seat was by the pond. My room was large and comfortable with a view over the garden. The rooms are old fashioned and there are no en-suite rooms but there... More

Lovely quiet and peaceful vegetarian Quaker centre. No TV, no computer, no telephone- just a small library and a cosy sitting room and a wonderful garden. I have stayed here many times mostly attending courses (such as yoga, Alexander Technique, Buteyko, Reiki and others). I have also stayed here just for rest and reflection. The food is excellent and very... More

I had two stays in this beautiful Victorian house. My first was for a Yoga weekend with my husband. This was instructive, relaxed and friendly. The food, to our delight, was vegetarian, partly Fair Trade and delicious. Our accommodation was basic but very comfortable with even an electrical recliner single bed. The staff were unobtrusive but also efficient and very... More
