Stayed 2 nights to see sights around Cornwall. Below standard accommodation, No WI FI available needed to go to pub 700 mtrs away, old rooms with poor quality beds, bathroom in need of renovation. Not up to the standard of a lot of B and B in England. Excellent breakfast and friendly staff.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review for our guesthouse. We are delighted you mention our excellent breakfast and friendly staff. We have four main aims at the Donnington: 1) Friendly staff, our team are kind, caring and have years of experience. They are wonderful. 2) A full-cooked tasty breakfast included in our rate to set our... More

The welcome felt very rushed. Great room, bathroom and a very comfortable bed. I stayed between Christmas and New Year. Breakfast was very disappointing, just toast and cereal on offer. I'm not sure why this was but it wasn't mentioned until I was there. If I'd have known when I booked I would have gone elsewhere. Good location on the... More

Thank you for taking time to write a review and stay with us over the Christmas period. We pride ourselves on being open over Christmas and there was a great atmosphere here over Christmas and during breakfast. Every year we find that most of our guests who stay with us during Christmas week are either visiting family or working at... More

The welcome was very nice on arrival. Spending one night was enough. The room was tired and the shower smelt like a French drain (it did smell better after one shower). The room was clean but marks in the walls and dirt in the ornamental vase in the window was horrible. Breakfast was OK if you like long life milk... More

Very nice overnight stay, warm welcome and comfortable stay. Room was clean, well acquainted and plenty of room with bunk bed for a family of four. Plenty of parking and quite close to railway station if you travel that way. Overall very good value and great breakfast in the morning. Cash or cheque payment only, be warned!

Two buildings with enough parking. Road out front can be busy at times but great views of Truro from the rear. Service and breakfast okay. Someone did a poor job on the bathroom slide door. 2 nights and I made it both to the North Coast (Perranporth) and South (Falmouth). Good value for money

Positive - friendly welcoming staff and ample parking. Negative - did not expect "private bathroom " to involve sharing a toilet, nor an en suite shower to be a cubicle actually in the bedroom as if the bed was in the shower room. My brother's shower was so mouldy he didn't shower for the duration. Cracking old woodchip décor. Have... More

On a main road a few mins from the station (uphill all the way from there though!) we had room one which was to the rear with a nice view out over the town. The room has a hotch potch of furniture some wicker and falling apart, and a most odd table, none matching wardrobe and the room had a... More

Good location, nice breakfast, friendly warm welcome and parking had just enough spaces for all the cars. Room was ok, although a bit small and the bathroom floor still had what looked like the previous guests genital hairs on the floor.... Not a nice sight. The room smelt damp the whole 3 nights we stayed there :(( Overall the experience... More

So I stayed here on my own for a LEJOG trek. I got a very friendly, warm welcome from the staff, who also helped me with local places to find an evening meal and were very useful. The only issue was after carrying a heavy backpack all day, my room was up on the highest floor. However, bedroom facilities were... More

A nice welcome, friendly staff at breakfast. This guest house is very tired, the shower cubicle was full of black mould. The water did not drain readily and so one needed to switch off regularly to permit water to drain away. The shower water was hot which was nice. Shower gel and hand soap is provided in case you have... More
